hi ladies getting scared but excited to be over all the pain my baby is still breech n they want to try turn her themself or do a c section what are your thoughts on drs turning baby cheers
Turning can be dangerous for you and baby. It often doesn't work or the baby turns right back if they are successful. I was in the same boat and it sucks! Try some alternative options, spinning babies has a lot of ideas. For us after some research we decided we were not willing to take the risk, then my water broke at 35 weeks and c-section was our only option. I'm 11days post delivery and it wasn't that bad. Still sore but manageable with help. Good luck!
My LO is breech too. I'm going to a chiropractor who practices the Webster Technique next week. If that doesn't work, I don't think I'd consider a manual version...too risky and not a great success rate. Try some positions at home and explore alternative turning methods...tonight I'm going to try the ice technique !
They can turn during labor sometimes . Mine just turned recently. I'm 36 weeks 5 days. I felt a huge flip then felt her rotate. I was worried about it too. I decided against having a external version I just tried some exercises to encourage her to get into position. The risk of version and possible c-section or induction if it failed made me decide not to take that route if she ended up not turning on her own.
I'm 35 weeks and my baby is still breeched. My midwife gave moxibustion sticks but so far they haven't worked. They told to talk to another doc about getting the baby turned at 37 weeks. My appt is Tuesday. I am scared about this procedure...don't know much about except that I was told by my midwife that I should have an epidural and that if that doesn't work I should try to visit with a doc who specializes in delivering breech babies. Or just flat out choose a c section.
knottie no way id be trying to turn my baby its supose to hurt nor have a epidural i have to wait till thurs to have ultrasound n see wat happens from there good luck hun
I'm 34 weeks and went to the Chiro this morning to try and flip baby. I have also been trying to crawl around on all 4s and put my bum up in the air.....hoping he flips!
I am in the SAME boat! I had my doctors appointment yesterday and she is still breech.. we decided to go ahead and schedule my c-section so as of right now our baby girl will be gracing us with her presence on July 6th (unless she decides to come earlier). There are many risks involved when having them attempt to turn the baby and even if it is successful, there's always a chance they could flip back so I decided the risks are just not worth it, I'd rather just have a c-section.
If by chance she flips before my c-section is scheduled, then we will let her go and wait until she comes on her own but at this point we aren't confident she will be flipping. She's been breech my entire pregnancy.
My boy was breech at 36 weeks and was hearing all the version and csection talk. I decided to try the Webster technique I had an appt on Mon and Thursday at my ultrasound baby was head down and has been since. I highly recommend trying this as it has an 82% success rate in studies and version has only about a 50% success rate and some pretty terrible complications. The chiropractor sometimes takes a couple times but it's seriously worth a try if trying to avoid a csection.
I know it seems like a lot of women are saying c-section, but i think it's important to add that many breech babies resolve before they officially come out - some getting into position as late as when labor begins.
Sometimes it's just a matter of loosening your muscles and getting into a position where baby can turn and get ready (see spinningbabies.com). My midwives recommend doing some stretches on a yoga ball or seeing a chiropractor to help the baby naturally get into position (both cheaper than a c-section and highly effective).
I've also known other mothers who had the baby turned by their OB, and they stayed put once flipped (largely because their space isn't getting any bigger - it's getting tighter so it's harder for them to move around as the pregnancy progresses). It seems worth a shot, because what's the worst that could happen? It doesn't stick and you get a c-section anyway.
That being said, if you want a c-section and that is your comfort level, go for it! I would just feel remiss if your other options weren't mentioned, since I think they're all viable.
Praying for you and baby, and that whatever option you choose goes well!!
