Swollen & Sweaty Feet

I had my baby on Saturday(6/6) and I came home yesterday night. Before leaving everything checked out perfectly for baby and I but today I am not feeling my best. My feet are swollen but my legs and face and hands are not. They are also sweaty which I'm assuming is the hormones and the IV I'm sweating out. I'm also feeling occasionally nauseous but sometimes I'm thinking that's just my own fault since I'm hungry all the time due to breastfeeding. My bleeding isn't bad and my uterus is still occasionally contracting. I didn't have any complications during pregnancy and I had a natural labor if that's any help.

Does what I'm going through seem normal?
Sorry I think I'm just scared.

Re: Swollen & Sweaty Feet

  • I went through the same thing.  Drink plenty of water and rest as much as you can.  If you can have someone come over to help you, even a few hours during the day then take advantage of it!  And even though you may seem nauseous try to get some nutrients in your body.  It will help keep your energy up.

The swelling in your feet and legs typically go away in about a week or so.

  • I agree with PP on just keeping up with yourself as much as possible and trying to take in healthy options. With my 2nd pregnancy especially I was surprised at how long it felt like I had swollen feet after labor..but they did eventually return to normal with no issue! If u have concern though u can always run it by ur doc! :) good luck!
