Pregnant after a Loss

cautious intro (loss mentioned)

Hello all, my name is Rachel. After months of trying, my husband and I found out in march that we were expecting baby #2. We had an u/s at 8.5 weeks, all looked well. When I went back around 13 weeks, we discovered I had a mmc as baby had stopped growing around week 10. I opted for a d&c which I had may 8. I got negative hpt one week after that and ovulated one week after that right on track. So,when I didn't get my period this week as I expected to also be right on schedule, I took a hpt and BFP! Very excited but also way paranoid, I feel more paranoid than I ever did with my DD. The line was faint, not a squinter, but faint which I know is totally normal but I have a million ideas in my head as to what a faint line could indicate other than the positive of being pregnant. We are due valentines day. Hope I can hang here for the next 9 months. :)

  • Congratulations! I had an early MC in March, now 11w2d. Was on edge and nervous up until a few weeks ago, Im sure you will reach that point where you start feeling less fearful. Im eagerly awaiting my 12w scan and hoping it goes well. Wish you a happy healthy pregnancy and that this one goes better!!
  • Thanks ladies! I told myself worrying won't change anything, so I wouldn't worry. Yet, the second I got that positive, I started critiquing every twinge and symptom. We are going to Florida for a funeral and will have some beach time after, hoping that keeps my mind off of things.

I'm 24 weeks and I still worry! My friends with kids just tell me, "Welcome to motherhood!" I'm sure the beach will be nice and relaxing, I'm jealous! ;)
  • Hi Rachel!
It seems like we share a few things in common...
I also experienced a mmc earlier this year and was devastated. I also just got a BFP and we share the same due date!!! :) I can definitely relate to what you're going through as I'm also worried but trying my best to stay positive. Funny enough, my husband and I are also going to Florida soon so I'm hoping the beach time will keep me relaxed. I agree with what you said about worrying not changing anything. Sometimes it's easier said than done though but I'm trying to take things one day at a time. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy!
