Went to the doctors for spotting yesterday....

I was 5w5d (5w6d today) and I was worried about constant brown discharge and some light red spotting. They did a transvaginal U/S and I was able to see the sac and yolk, I also saw my peanut's little beating heart! As for the bleeding my doc said there was a little hematoma next to the sac that can trickle blood out if pushed upon but will eventually be absorbed into my body. Things like exercise and intercourse can agitate it but she said nothing to be alarmed about. So great news all around!

glad you were able to put your mind at ease. I had a small amount of brown spotting in week 5 as well and would go to the bathroom and wipe to check compulsively every 15 min or so. I'm in week 6 now and it's stopped so I dialed it back but I'm still being compulsive about it. So many worries during this time!
