STMs or those who delivered- major pains down below after birth- muscle spasms

Hey all. It has been an amazing week with LO. During the last few moths before he came I would have pain in my lower region in what seemed like the muscles and area around my Virginia/ especially on the left side. I had figured it was the way he was laying inside and hitting something. It would actually hurt most often when laying on my sides and going into my back would help the pain. LO came sat June 6 and the recovery has been going very well and " normal" I guess. Yesterday morning I was sitting in the couch and randomly started having those pains again. I had to take my pain meds and it went away within an hour. In the middle of the night while hubby was on baby duty I woke up from laying o the side in the most excruciating pain I have ever felt. Like the previous pains but ten times worse. I could not move at all. The tiniest movement we horrible. Did call my ob s emergency number, took meds and finally did go away. But it was so bad we had to call my sil at 2 in the morning yo come help and we were within minutes from calling 911. I'm working on getting in to see my ob this morning because I am panicking at the thought of it happening again. Was wondering if anTone else has ever experienced this? It is not coming straight from the Virginia but more the area around it. Any info would be great. Thanks

  • Sorry for all the errors above. Hate using my phone!

  • I would for sure make an appt ASAP to get your perineum checked out.....
Pain so bad you need to call someone or 911 is not normal. Any clots or hematoma(trapped blood/ bruise) down there that you can see with a mirror?
  • No experience to share, but thinking of you and hoping you get answers and a resolution. How horrible, I'm so sorry!!
  • I am just waiting for them to call me when they open. I had spoken to them yesterday with the first round and I'm positive they will take me right away just have to wait to hear back. I have not checked. So scared to open my legs!!!

Maybe take a pain killer prior to appt to ease the opening the legs fear? Good luck I hope all is OK!
  • Went to the doctor this morning. @klkonwi the first thing she checked for was a hematoma. It turns out it is muscle spasms. I'm having them in my vagina. Oh my! She gave me a script for muscle relaxers. I cannot take them orally because of breastfeeding so I have to stick them up my Virginia. I also have to take Motrin round the clock and if I have one, oxycodine. The annoying thing is I have no idea if it will happen again and if do it could happen at anytime. She said sometimes physical therapy can be done but not for me because it is too soon after baby
  • Thanks for your responses earlier
  • Glad you got it figured out! Not ideal or fun solutions but glad there is some none the less!!!
