Re: TTTC Checkin - 06/08/2015
QOTW: As a kid I had major food aversions like olives and spinach, which I love now. However, I refuse to eat okra in any form, I just can't handle the sliminess and the taste is awful to me.
Married for 7 years, TTC for 4 years
dx: Diminished Ovarian Reserve
2 Clomid IUI's + 4 injectable IUI's= 5 BFNs and 1 mc
Had my CD12 scan on Saturday. 3 follies total: 29mm, 17mm, and 15mm. Blood LH level was at 56.
I'm hoping the 17 and 15 are viable. Was told the 29mm was probably too big.
The Kaiser RE office we've been using will be closing so this is my last cycle with them. If we need to move on after this I think we will be taking a short break to look for a new clinic and some sanity.
QOTW: I can't think of a food that I refuse to eat. I dislike a lot of foods, but will eat them if they are in other things.

@tiffk10 17 and 15 are pretty good sizes for CD12. Did they give you your E2 level?

Banana's. I HATE bananas. I can eat them baked into break, but thats about it. Banana flavored anything is disgusting as well as raw, uncooked bananas.

To be added to the Weekly Checkin, please answer the following:
1. How long have you been TTC?
2. What is your diagnosis?
MFI- Low count and low motility
Went through our first IVF with ICSI cycle in May, wound up with a BFN on 6/1. My body responded great to the meds, 13 eggs retrieved, 10 mature only 4 fertilized, out of those 4, 3 made it to day 3 and we transferred 3 only 1 of them was an 8 cell. The fourth never made it to freeze. RE seems to think it was DH's sperm quality and now has him on a new vitamin supplement, he also has me on CQ10 and DHEA as well as a high protein, low carb diet. The only the thing we are changing next cycle is starting Crinone twice a day after retrieval rather than once and going on estrogen as well. Hoping to get more eggs fertilized and making it to day 5. We are taking June off to let my body heal from May's cycle and starting in July.
Question of the Week: What food do you positively hate the taste of?
Still hanging out on the bench, but on a positive note I feel a lot better clinically. Even my chart looks a lot "prettier" this cycle so I feel positive that the Synthroid is working (I've been on it exactly 3 weeks so I know I might need some more time on it still to see all it's effects. On another note, DH has agreed while we are on the bench to get another SA done. Last time he didn't get checked for antibodies and I'm worried that he has some (but also trying to avoid being "the girl who cried infertility").
Right now I'm just not sure how far to proceed and how much to wait and try naturally. Because we live in a verryyy small town and isolated community the closest RE is 10 hours away in good traffic. Luckily enough my small town has an internist (I know not an RE or even an obgyn) but she is willing to refer and I'm willing to travel (she is doing a great job with my thyroid)
Eta: I have so many food aversions (super taster yay!) I can usually gag down about anything to be polite but I absolute can't do beer ( I know it's liquid and not food). I'll take a couple of sips before I gag and make myself throw up
@GoldenKeys decisions like that are so hard, sending positive vibes your way as well
@AndieB83 welcome! The ladies here are amazing
@Aera11 yay for open tubes and fx for a good SA. I hope time passes fast for you, waiting sucks
@dmsmth yay for good prolactin levels. Also, bananas are the only thing I can eat without gaging, I pretty much live off them
@tiffk10 fx for you this cycle
15 months ttc
Diagnosis: possibly pcos
Current plan: clomid; in the middle of round one and going back to RE in a week to get results of all additional tests (esp. SA)
QOTW: I hate tripe! And other foods with a similar squishy texture
My husband and I are at the beginning stages of IVF. Meds and shots begin at the end of June. ER will be beginning of July and then they will figure out if they will do frozen or fresh. I'm trying to do things that will benefit me. I've given up alcohol, caffeine and am eating right. I do my first round of acupuncture on Thursday and I'm very excited for it. Has anyone done this? We have a ton of support which I think is amazing. My neighbors want to do a Fertility dinner with me before all of this starts. They have been researching foods that supposedly help with fertility and will be making those for this special night. When they asked of course I got emotional because it's so thoughtful. My suggestion for anyone going through this is during this difficult time tell those friends and family what you are going through because support does help.
Food: I hate olives and mushrooms. Never liked them and never will. Haha.
Hope everyone has a great week!
I have many food aversions which were mentionned by others: bananas, peanut butter (I hate the smell; and then peanut butter AND banana is just my worst nightmare), okra and many other bitter foods, shrimps, lobster, crab and other seafood (can't handle the eyes, legs and stuff), and all kinds of olives.
@Cupcakegal930: You're added, ma'am! :-) Good luck on your next round of IVF.
@graphicgranite: Consider yourself added! I'm a little worried that your doctor is giving you medication without a diagnosis or even an SA. I'm assuming that you're seeing an OBGYN and not an RE?
@jnissa: I totally agree. Insurance in the USA is such a clusterf*** it's all I can do not to break down and cry sometimes.

Hi I would like to be added to the group.

2. What is your diagnosis? Bilateral mid tubal blockage
3. What is your current treatment plan? Minimal stimulation IVF, first cycle. Took Letrozole on Sunday night, and today I feel like you would if you were getting the flu (body aches, slight nausea, fatigue) Second ultrasound tomorrow afternoon to get the green light for injections!
Food aversion: I can't stand raw onions! I will eat them if they are cooked down to mush with butter or cooked in something for flavor, but as soon as a raw piece touches my tongue I want to gag!
Re. My diagnosis, I am a bit confused too. My specialist kind of said in passing "you probably have pcos" based on my history and ultrasound.
Thanks for helping make sure I'm on the right track!
