28 weeks and 4 days dental work

Has anyone had to have a tooth extraction while in the beginning of their third trimester? My tooth is badly infected and started chipping off in pieces of today.... There is a huge cavity...I get to talk to my ob tomorrow and I already have Tylenol 3 for a slipped disc so I could deal with the pain with that medication. Just wanting opinions and experiences...     Hi, my dentist is having me wait until after baby. He wants to make sure no infection gets in blood stream and he can give me pain meds.

    It doesn't hurt to wait. If your mouth hurts they can give you antibiotics and that will take it away until baby is born.

    An infection can become dangerous to baby. Your OB will weigh the risks/benefits of having the tooth extracted and make the call from there. If they decide to extract, you can manage the pain with Tylenol and ice packs. It won't be fun, but it's doable.

    I had a root canal at 20 week pregnant. My OB was dead set on me getting my broken tooth taken care of asap because of risk of infection. Tylenol, nothing stronger and I was ok, could of been better, but I survived!
