So far I got a pristine pottery barn dresser/changing table (1000$) for 300 bucks
4 moms mamaroo ( barely used and still in box (baby didn't like it ) 140$
Crib/full bedding set 100$
Free stuff (infant bath, white noise teddy bear, baby wipes warmer )
Jumperoo (fisher price 140$) 30$
Boppi and boppi newborn lounger 10$ each
Fisher price my little lamb bouncer 10$
All in pristine condition. Pristine ! Not all stuff on there is perfect but if you troll long enough you will find it . The people I bought from were jealous that they didn't think of it lol
Re: Craigslist ... What you should know
I don't want to have to deal with finding the space for baby stuff in our current apt, as well as moving it all later.. But I would love to go ahead and starting getting stuff ready
Just as a funny aside, my DH bought an AR (assault rifle) lower from a guy on Craigslist a few Halloweens ago and the guy he bought it from gave him a fake name and would only meet us at a Starbucks (perfectly cool with us!) it was at night and the seller was sitting outside at a table and had the part for the AR on his lap but no one noticed. My DH and the seller exchanged the money and the gun part and just as my DH was walking away with it to his truck this guy was heading into Starbucks, saw the gun part and obviously thought it was a full functioning gun and sprinted into the Starbucks as if he was being chased by a pack of hungry wolves and ducked under a table! We felt so bad!!!!
So this is an inside joke of sorts when I had my daughter my friend and I were both pregnant and they were doing this big local story on this girl who just turned 18 and she was cut from her mothers belly with a car key. Ok so that part isn't funny but keeping our fetuses where they belonged became out mantra when we went to the scary Walmart, or out someplace weird or to the mall and the old ladies mobbed us.
Living in NYC I have deep fear of bed bugs and I'm surprised in a thread about Craigslist used items no one has brought up bed bugs. I recognize that this is not a major problem in all cities, but it certainly is here. Clothing- sure- because that's easy to take care of (hot setting for washer, high dryer temp), but furniture.... Too scary for my blood. (Shivers in fear).
Sorry this was off topic lol.
