Ultrasound fail

Hey ladies. So in the past I had a molar pregnancy and the likely hood of this reoccurring is higher now. With that being said my primary doctor wanted to get me to get an ultrasound asap to rule this out. When I went to get my ultrasound at 5 weeks they didn't see anything... No tumor, no fetus, no sac... A little strange and scary. The tech said that it is just too early to see anything but it isn't sitting right with me. Anyone else experience this before??

I didn't have that exact experience but my doc won't see me until at least 6 weeks because most of the time they can't find anything. They were using my HCG levels to monitor me and I will get my first US tomorrow at 6w2d. T&P that it is just too early and everything is fine.

I had an ultrasound today and all they could see was the gestational sac, nothing else. It might just be too early and/or their equipment.

I was told that it was that reason that they wouldn't do my first ultrasound on me until I was at least 6 weeks, because there isn't much that they can really see. That said my first appointment isn't until almost 8 weeks. I wouldn't panic yet, it is very early.

Definitely to early. And most likely not as far along as you originally thought. Keep your hopes up!

Did they do an ultrasound (on your belly) or with that "magic" wand? I know that early in, the wand is far more capable or catching anything for you to see. With that being said, you difinately could be a little early still too. FX for you!

Hey last week I went at 4+6 and they saw absolutely nothing- a week later (today!) they saw a pregnancy sac and yolk sac so it looks like it's progressing- I wouldn't worry too much. My doc said that some people ovulate later so measure slightly under

Yesterday they had to use the wand because they couldn't see anything at all with the belly u/s.

Thanks everyone I feel much better about this. However I did get a call from my primary doc saying my hcg levels are almost 2000. Is that normal this early?? I am probably just over thinking all this but she told me to make an appt immediately with my ob. I go in tomorrow at 830. Hopefully I have some answers then.

Yes, that is right where you should be at 5 weeks.

I went last week and we couldn't see anything! Which of course makes me nervous!! My doc said my tilted uterus doesn't help much either!!! The "magic wand" hurt like heck too!! I'm going back on the 18th and crossing my fingers we see something!!! Good luck to you @ljayea
