Mani/pedi

I've put it off long enough! My nails are gross. I got a gel mani over a month ago and have a wedding Saturday. I'm thinking of doing my own mani and just painting over the gel ( the color is super light) because soaking my fingers in acetone for 30 min just doesn't feel right to me right now.

But how about a normal pedicure?

What's the consensus? Safe? I'm 6 weeks and a couple days but don't see my doc til 8 weeks.

It's fine as long as the place is reputable and is well ventilated.

Eek I live in NYC so it's not like a fancy place just a typical mani/pedi walk- in on the corner. Not sure how reputable they are but I think they keep the front door open in summer.

Hmmm... I think you're probably okay (as in, I would do it). If it's a place you've gone to quite a few times before and trust is clean and sanitary, there shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks I never had a prob there. Like I said, I'll skip the acetone soak on my gels and just get a pedi.

I recommend requesting a chair by the door. I thought I was fine when they put me in a corner because they have super-high ceilings... Until someone right sat next to me and asked for a full set of acrylics--which reeked something NASTY. I felt like an asshole both to my LO and to the women watching me sighing and breathing sideways to avoid the fumes.

The pedi chairs are all in the back but luckily I never usually see people getting acrylics too often. When I'm in Long Island (my hometown) it's a different story... But I don't come across it too much on the upper west side. Women are more natural here lol. I'm off for the summer so I'll go at an off time in middle of day. Thanks!!
