Egg Retrieval

I'm going in for egg retrieval in the morning! I'm excited/scared/nervous! Can't wait to hear on Thursday how many they were able to get! Then transfer for IVF on Monday if all goes well!!!

    4 miscarriages: Nov 2009,  Jan 2011, Sept 2011,  Oct 2012
    IVF Round 1:
    3/4/15: Egg Retrieval
    16 Eggs Retrieved -- 15 Fertilized via ICSI -- 10 Blastocysts Biopsied for PGD & PGS -- 2 (male) Blastocysts Remain for Transfer
    5/13/15: FET -- 5/26/15: BFN
    CANCELLED IVF Round 2.

    Best of luck! If we dont get a bfp after this round of clomid we'll also be moving on to ivf. Hope you can be the success story I aspire to :)

    @przemosbabe - two days i had 14 on right and 13 on left ovary, I'm hoping they can get eggs from all of them since we don't know how many will make it through the whole process! Thanks @AshKazmi

    May 2015 1st IVF, 19 follicles, 18 eggs retrieved on May 20, 13 fertilized, transferred 1 Blastocyst on May 25=BFP!; froze 2 Blastocysts
    Full term healthy baby boy born on 2-11-16
    Jan 29, 2018: FET 
    Feb 8. 2018: BFP! :)
    Mar 6: weak heartbeat. :(

    Thanks everyone... They were able to retrieve 25 eggs! They will do the ICSI procedure today and then call me tomorrow and tell me how many look good and how they are doing! So excited!!!

    Just heard from my nurse... It was 26 total eggs, 13 were mature, 10 were fertilized. Anyone know if 10 is a good number? I was expecting more since I had so many eggs removed but I don't really know and my nurse left a message so I didn't wanna call back and bug her!

    I was told about 70% will fertilze so that's a good number! I had 18 eggs and 13 fertilize.

    I was always told to expect every number to cut in half, so 26 retrieved to 13 mature is right on point. And then if you used icsi the fertilization rate is usually like 70-80 percent, so that number also seems right on point.

    That many immature is not great and means your protocol was not the best for you, but you will got 10 fertilized and if all of them make blastocysts that is plenty!!!! Even 5 blasts is plenty. I myself would be uncomfortable with more! You don't want tons of blasts sitting in a freezer, I would be happy with 10 :) Keep up posted :)

    Result; 1 frozen blast (inconclusive PGS results)
    IVF #2; ER: 6/22 16 retrieved, 6/25: 5 transferred (CP), 2 frozen
    FET 9/17: BFN
    Current FET -- Transferred 2 day-3 embryos - BFN
