Delivery hemorrhoids

...how bad are these going to get? I have had hemorrhoids before I was pregnant, now suddenly this week, almost 35 wks and they're really bad. I'm using medicated pads religiously but I'm even now anxious about going to the bathroom. Today I had to walk around for 2 hours at work and they started leaking reddish fluid (made sure it wasn't coming from somewhere else...). I can't even imagine if these are going to get worse at delivery, what are other people's experiences? I'm almost more worried about the hemorrhoids than vaginal trauma at this point.

Re: Delivery hemorrhoids

  • They're the worst but they heal up. They give you a lot of soothing remedies at the hospital. They also give you stool softener to help during healing time. Try not to worry, they're inevitable.

  • Tucks pads. Anything to make them feel better will be your friend. Stool softeners. Like the last poster said, they are inevitable:/

I spent the $30 on a tube a recta-care. Worth it. Soooooooo worth it!

RectiCare is the best OTC product for this--- ever. And FYI: I burned my hand and used it on the burn-- total miracle. Best $30 ever spent at Walgreens.
  • What is recticare? I got some with my first babe and oh baby are they back.
I had really bad diarrhea (sorry tmi) on Saturday and I thought it was really labor. My bum hurt so bad I prayed that I wasn't in labor cause I couldn't focus on anything else.

RectiCare is a cream with Lidocaine. Numbs the area so you can live life. Or at least complain about something else besides the literal pain in your ass.
  • I got them bad last week and I got a prescription for this stuff called proctofoam. It was still like 40 bucks with insurance but that stuff worked awesome.
