  I just started the injections 3 days ago--my daughter was a preemie, without explanation (water broke but there was no infection or anything they could diagnose that caused it). So my OB decided Lovenox was the way to go this time as a precaution.
  
  Not a super fun way to start the day, but I'm hoping to get baby to term this time!
  
  Any Lovenox veterans? Does it stop burning so bad eventually? My injection site usually hurts for an hour or so...

  The burning does not stop.you can try to ice the area before you inject to kinda numb it and that helps. Just rotate sites and the further from your belly button the better it feels for me. I've done lovenox not just in pregnancy so I know a few tricks. Also over the counter lidocaine can help a little. Feel free to message me if you have questions.

  I'm on Lovenox due to Factor V Leiden and a protien S deficiency. I've never had pregnancy complications or clots myself, but both my mother and brother have had multiple blood clots.
  This is my third pregnany on Lovenox and I'm not looking forward to 7 more months of injections. I've found injecting slowly helps with the burning. And I agree with the previous post that said further from the belly button is better. The days I get even a bit closer I seem to bruise.

  I'm on lovenox. My son was born IUGR at 32 weeks due to placental failure and we have a family history of this plus blood clots, abruptions, etc. The shots are getting easier. I've never iced, but I agree that near the belly button is definitely more painful and it is very important to inject slowly!

  I just started on Lovenox yesterday for the first time. Just finished my 2nd injection...the burn just finally went away. Wow this is not going to be fun! I'm 4w5d with pregnancy #7, after 5 recurrent miscarriages so willing to try anything to try to prevent another m/c - that's what I have to tell myself over and over as I work up the guts to inject myself!

  I am on Lovenox injections once a day too. I developed 3 blood clots in my leg after my first pregnancy, so I have to be on Lovenox for all future pregnancies. I hate having to take them! It's even scarier seeing all the forums online with the moms talking about how their kids have learning disabilities when they were on Lovenox. Hopefully they are not related!!

  Nikkid- May I ask why they give Lovenox for recurrent miscarriages? That's interesting I didn't know they did that!

  Hi there! I'm on Lovenox too... Hub injects me everyday! Been on for 10 days now and only have one friend of a friend who I know that has done the same thing -- and she has a happy and healthy little boy! Never heard about learning disablities as a side effect. That's scary!
  After some testing, it was found out that I too have a blood clotting disorder that does not affect me in any way, shape or form in real life, but could have possibly led to my two previous miscarriages. Hence the shots. I have very little bruising... so far only on the first two injections sites because I think we were learning. Does it get worse over time?
  It sounds a little weird, but I kind of look forward to it every day. I feel like I am doing something that will help this pregnancy come to fruition.
