Thrush anyone?

So what a shitshow my mouth has been having for the last month.
First I had an abscessed tooth and had to have antibiotic and a tooth extraction,
then I got strep throat.
the I got another antibiotic.
then I promptly developed oral thrush.  ITS THE PITS.

anyone got any good advice for dealing with the thrush?  Any good stories on how nasty it is?

    YUCK! Thrush is THE WORST. I picked it up when my daughter was probably 14 months old - courtesy chewing on toys at daycare, then coming home to nurse. Luckily I did NOT get it in my mouth. And luckily we caught it early (it was one of my biggest fears!) and got it treated and taken care of within days.

    Good luck - YUCKY way to start the weekend :(

    Thanks @Wering.  It has been nasty.  None of my kids has had it yet so I have been lucky enough to not deal with it.  This is my first experience with it and can I just say "GA-ROSSSSS"

    My friend and her baby got it during breastfeeding... She swears by grapefruit seed extract to clear it up. Not sure how it's administered, but you may want to look into that. I've since heard of other women using it and loving it, too.

    I had it once and got prescription lozenges from my doctor that cleared it right up.

    Coconut oil! Put some in your mouth, swish around 2-3 times a day. Will also help your gums, teeth, and the thrush

    Thanks for all the input ladies!  My mouth has never felt so gross.  I will be at the dr. on this Friday so I will be asking about the lozenges and looking up the grapefruit seed extract and trying out the coconut oil!
