Two appointments ago I got "yelled at" for gaining 4 pounds (TOO MUCH!!) between (4 weeks apart) appointments. Then I only gained 1 pound at the next one, and 2 pounds at this one. So at 28 weeks and being up 14 pounds, I'm now "under" the recommended weight gain curve, and the doc is concerned about THAT. FFS people, I'm growing a baby, leave me be!!
/rant. Maybe we can just vent about inconsistent doctors in this thread??

At 1 of my 2 week appts I had gained 5 lbs, but it turns out it was a sign of my pre-eclampsia gaining that much in just 2 weeks. Five days later I had a follow-up after the diagnosis and I had lost 3 lbs. He said he was glad I lost it, but now I have to be monitored more closely. Ugh.
I'm glad he's so laid back, it keeps mefrom stressing out!
So annoying about inconsistency! Weight can fluctuate by several pounds depending on time of day, water retention, what you've had to eat over the last several days, etc.
I know women who have gained 10 pounds and women who have gained 80 pounds during pregnancy and everything in between and gone on to have perfectly healthy babies. IMO the obsession with numbers on a scale and the "ideal" weight gain serves mostly to stress out already anxious pregnant women!!!
