Baby eats a lot

Owen is 3.5 weeks old and has been a little pig since he came out. He's been doing 24-28oz of enfamil ar (docs suggestion) a day! He eats 3-4 hours at a time. He wakes up soo angry when it's time to eat. Anyone else have a hungry baby? Just feel like the amount he eats is a lot for how young he is

Re: Baby eats a lot

  • My three week old eats 4-4.5 oz each feeding. Doc said its normal just a hungry boy

My son is 2 weeks old and eats 3oz a feeding (total: 24-30oz a day) And if we let him have more he would definitely eat it lol
  • My son is the same way, but he hasn't increased much in the last few weeks(5 weeks now). He's basically eaten the same amount since we started formula 4 weeks ago.

  • Yep. I have a 3 week old boy who eats up to 4 oz a feeding every 2-3 hours, whether its formula or breast milk. Doc and LCs said he shouldn't be having more than 3 oz but he often demands more.

My LO is 3 weeks and was eating 3 oz and is now up to 4. She is also on the same formula. I'm really glad too because it finally seems to help with projectile vomiting and spitting up. She still spits up some, but not as much. What about your LO? Did you notice a difference?
  • My son too! He chugs down 3oz of breast milk or formula, I'm amazed at how quickly he gets through the bottles haha!
  • I notice a difference in the spit up but it seems harsh on his tummy. He cries so much and we can feel the gas rumbling in his tummy. Tried little Tummys, colic calm, and hylands

my son is 3 weeks and does the same thing - wakes up and starts screaming for food immediately; you'd think we haven't fed him in days... then he scarfs down 2-3-4 oz (of breast milk) in about 10 min, 15 max, and passes out again. Rinse and repeat every 1-2-3 hours...
