Milestone Moments!

What milestones have your babies reached?

How old are they?

Were you surprised at the timing that this happened?

Re: Milestone Moments!

  • My DS rolled over for the first time tonight. He's 2.5 weeks old and I am in absolute shock!!! He was playing on his playmat on his back for a while and then DH put him on his belly for some tummy time. Within a minute or two he rolled onto his back. DH and I were so surprised. Put him back on his belly and he did it again in the other direction. We kept trying and he did it two more times (once in both directions).

Couldn't believe it happened so early!!! I didn't even know newborns could do that!!!

  • My baby smiles, she's a month old. At first I thought it was accidental smiles brought on by yawns, or farts, or something. Turns out she's just a smiling girl. Super surprised me since my first didn't start smiling until 3 whole months. Crazy about the rolling @chambersbaby2015 I didn't know they could do that either. Mine just lifts her head and looks around.

DD rolled over the other night as well!! It was very exciting.
  • My baby has been smiling since day 1 and she is 3 weeks old now.. I guarantee it isn't the wind smiles either
  • My baby smiled at my husband tonight and it was just the sweetest thing. And she has super human neck strength. At tummy time yesterday she had her arms underneath her and had her head up looking around like a mini push up. She is three weeks old.

Mine did this too yesterday!!! DS is 2.5 weeks old as well. I was so shocked when he did it and then of course I started to cry because he is growing up already
  • My baby girl has been able to hold her head up since she was about a week old. She can't quite lift it up during tummy time, but if you sit her up she holds it up and looks around.

My ds has been rolling over as well starting a few days shy of 3 weeks old :) I was so shocked

  • All of my girls rolled in the first few weeks and then it stoped until the official rolling begins. I think it's that their legs are long and they are light.

Not to burst any bubbles, maybe some will keep it up!

Yep. My LO rolled over a lot the first couple of weeks. She will be 4 weeks tomorrow and doesn't roll over hardly ever now.

She is grasping objects on her play mat and bringing them to her mouth. She did a real smile and not a gas smile the other day. It was a response to silly faces and voices I was making. She did it again for my husband too.
  • After weeks of frustration, my son is able to nurse from my left breast without sawing off my nipple. (Still working on healing the right one so we can try there too.)  I'll take what I can. ;)  (He also holds his head up for a few seconds at a time and smiles occasionally.)

DS started holding his head up while on his tummy at 9 days and now can hold it up and look around for 30-45 seconds at a time. He also gave DH his first real smile today, and then kept smiling at him for the next couple of minutes! Can't wait to hear him laugh :)
