Gift ideas for in laws

So I have amazing in laws my MIL & SIL are both very sweet. Thankfully my SIL has two kids under 4 so she has so many toys, clothes good advice etc to give to me. And my MIL has bought most of our baby furniture among other things. I'm very lucky but I feel like it's too much sometimes but as we're a young couple I'm not really in a postion to refuse anything. Any ideas on how I can thank them properly as I'm terrible at buying gifts.

    I would definitely acknowledge the gifts now through thank you notes.  Baked goods, like PP mentioed is a great idea too.  But you could give them a framed picture of the baby after delivery, or some other gift from Shutterfly.  Especially your MIL.  A mug or photo album, maybe?  Shutterfly has some relatively inexpensive options.

    If you want to go the sentimental route, I've been meaning to order one of these bracelets for my mom and MIL next special holiday. I guess though for this you'd have to wait until LO arrives to put pictures in it but you could also put a pic of DH and you in it too.

    My dad is always helping us out a lot. We are a young couple too, so I hate not to take the extra helo while we need it, but I will always make him dinner and send him home with leftovers. He works long hours and rarely eats homecooked meals! So i say thank you, make his belly full, and make sure he has lunch the next day! Lol sometimes just showing your gratitude in small ways goes so far!

    I second pictures! My mom makes fun of me for buying picture frames at garage sales like crazy but will spray paint them and add pictures and boom - instant awesome present for a few dollars. Garage sale frames are my kryptonite. I can't help myself.

    My mom made me some really cute coasters for mother's day this year with pictures mod-podged onto them. If she could figure out how to do them pretty much anyone should be able to - she doesn't have a crafty bone in her body. They turned out really great though and were cheap to make a lot of them. I'm planning on doing it for Christmas this year.

    I'm definitely going to take these ideas up . My husband is so annoying he doesn't get why I need to say anything other then thank you but I guess everyone takes their family for granted at times.

    Pictures! Print and frame one or two good ones but also give them a CD or flash drive with tons of pics so that can print what they want! Then they can see all of the things baby does day-to-day and also look back later. Make sure they are dated.

    Another idea is to make a "grandma basket" - if your baby will be at their house every so often or a lot, put together a cute cube or storage basket of baby care items to keep at their house with the brands you prefer they use. Here's a list of things it would be good to have there:

    - baby shampoo and bath wash
    - butt paste
    - wipes with refillable case (i always have too many cases anyway)
    - diapers (refill later with current size)
    - baby blanket
    - teething toy or rattle
    - comb/brush
    - baby lotion/ointment for dry skin (Aquafor/Eucerin, etc)

    You can get sample sizes of lotions and stuff; sign up for a Target baby registry and pick up the free samples at customer service and you'll have a bunch of items to start off the basket including a bottle!

    I'm in the same boat. My MIL bought all of our baby furniture. We invited them out to dinner (to a nice but affordable restaurant) and insisted on paying.
