gestation diabetes and LO has a large abdomen?

Hello ladies, I am currently 33 weeks and i was diagnosed with borderline GD a couple months ago however all my blood sugar numbers are all good but they are concerned because DD' s abdomen is in the 95%. Has anyone ever had a similar situation? The doctor who is watching my blood sugar says that my OB will more than likely take the baby early. This scares me out of my mind! HELP! TIA

    I have GD and at my 32 wk US, my little girls head and belly were measuring a week ahead. Doc wasn't worried. She said it's standard in those with GD to not let them go past the due date because there can be complications. Doc just said if I don't go early, she'll induce around my due date. She is also doing another check at 37 weeks to keep tabs on it. I wouldn't be worried. Take your cue from your OB, if she's concerned, she'll tell you. Remember, the last couple of weeks, babies are basically just putting weight on, anything after 37 weeks is considered full term.

    Thanks.. my OB has already scheduled my (repeat) c-section but I am seeing him on a weekly basis now until delivery. Thanks again
