Stay dedicated, getting schooling now is what's going to be best for you and your baby. You can do it.
I actually really dislike the term "teen mom." We don't label mothers in their twenties or thirties or fourties. It doesn't make you any less capable of being a mother, and it doesn't make you any more capable of being a mother. We're all moms doing what's best for our kiddos.
This may get long winded and I apologize.
When I got pregnant it was planned. Yes, I was silly at 19 and thought that was what I wanted. It has taken a long time (and some therapy) for me to be ok with my life. I love my kids and my husband but certainly not the easiest life and not the one I would have picked if I had a crystal ball and could see into the future. I was in college when I got pregnant and had to drop out because of cost. My BF (now husband) also had to drop out of school because we couldn't afford life. I was around four months, had no health issuance and hadn't seen a DR so finally sucked it up and went on medicaid. Had the baby spent the next two years barely being able to pay rent, feed ourselves etc because we didn't qualify for food stamps and we both worked min wage jobs.
Fast forward DH joined the military which was our saving grace. We both are 25, we have two boys who are 6 and 4. We both currently have AA degrees and are working on going further but military has other plans like sending is to South Korea right now lol. We have two cars, we don't own but we rent a really nice house, we can afford to take our kids to do things, fly friends and family to see us etc. However, without the military this would all be a dream.
I may seem like a debbie downer but it was not an easy ride and I didn't even have it that bad. I'm married to the man I fell in love with in high school and we have been married for 5 years now. We have two soon to be three great boys but, I was very naive and thought it would be a walk in the park and its not especially if you don't have family to lean on. For me it was and sometimes still is an uphill battle. We are still paying for mistakes we made then such as credit card debt.
