Feeding a breast feeder bottle

Recently my LO won't take any of her bottles, even if I'm the one trying to give it to her. If I have to step out, which very soon I have a class in the summer semester I don't want her to cry until I get back or fall asleep waiting. Does anyone have this issue ?

Re: Feeding a breast feeder bottle

  • I am going through this right now.  My 6mo decided that the bottle is not for him at about 2 months.  This wasn't such a big deal, since I was stay-at-home at this time.  I started a class in May, and had been trying to re-bottle him since March.  It's frustrating, but I try everyday.  He has tried 5 different types that I can think of... and it doesn't seem to be the nipple/bottle itself, but more he just doesn't want it over breast.

Funnily, he's able to actually hold the bottle now, and will even sit there holding it in his mouth... but he won't drink.  He has randomly drank an ounce here and there--but typically cries for about 3 hours until I am home.  I've read different tips and all, but none have worked for me so far.  This week, I'll be trying him on Similac ready-bottles, as I have a couple of friends who had the same issue, but these worked for them for some reason.  He was also on these starting out in the hospital... I'm crossing my fingers!
