I am totally double-dipping on the new discussions today. Sorry in advance if this is a TB faux-pas! X_X
So DH and I just had our shower and the ONLY things we have left to get is our car seat and stroller (we were very lucky). I have had no problem selecting furniture and everything else on our registry...but I CANNOT for the life of me decide on a freakin' stroller. I am 90% sure we are decided on the Graco Click connect Snugride carseat and we already got the extra base as a gift (we can always return it if we change our mind I realize).
When we registered months ago I was pretty set on the Graco Click-Connect jogger travel system because I live in New England and the roads/sidewalks can get pretty crappy in the winter. Now I am thinking a jogger might be too bulky for everyday use, and am leaning towards the BJ City Select. (mainly because of the appeal of the 2nd seat - we plan to start trying for #2 as soon as I stop BF-ing) This stroller is not an easy sell to DH, since it is $200 more than our original choice ("What do you mean it doesn't come with a carseat? Does it have with a beverage dispenser or something?")
If you own the City Select, what are your thoughts/gripes? Particularly if you have used it with the second seat attachment and/or a Graco carseat? Is it worth the price tag? Is it good for travel? We have a LONG flight (16+ hours with 2
layovers) planned for a trip in January when DS will be 5 months old...
PS - I did do a search for previous posts on this stroller and couldn't find anything more recent than 2012...

Aside, resale value in our area on a BJ is really good- if hubby is worried about the bottom line.

The city select is great - solid, smooth, good for short me (5'3" and dh 6' 3"). We got it when I was expecting dd2. It is not good for travel. The frame is pretty heavy. We use a McLaren umbrella when traveling (at destination) or an ergo baby carrier in the airport.
I used it with the peg perego car seat with no issue. The 2 seat feature was the best part - I didn't want dd1 or dd2 feeling like they were traveling in the cargo area.
Albee baby have a really good deal going right now & they did when we bought ours too. Good luck!
I literally just ordered mine on albeebaby.com because the second seat was free. If you go there you can check out the stroller sale. Some of the colors are sold out. It also didn't charge tax or shipping so it was $500.
I have used it for travel but prefer not to. It's bulky and the seat comes off so it's an extra piece to worry about. We have a BJ Vue that I travel with. I wouldn't travel with anything more than an umbrella stroller.
After work yesterday I stopped by BuyBuyBaby to try it out, fold it up, play with the attachments and test it out with the Graco carseat. Needless to say I loved it! So I bit the bullet and purchased the City Select last night on Amazon, with the second seat free! It took some convincing but ultimately DH said he trusted me to make the right decision
FYI - Buy Buy Baby is doing a special for the entire month of June that if you buy the BJCS you get the second seat free...however it is a rebate so you do need to buy it up front then mail the rebate in for the refund. This is the only reason I purchased it through Amazon instead, so I didn't need to pay for the 2nd seat up front.
