15 weeks and have fallen ill

im 15 weeks tomorrow and have had a bad cough for about 3 days now. I've had a lot of mucus and more nausea than ever before.. I also woke up at 5:30 with a horrible ear infection.

I have always had ear infections as a kid & adult but I'm just wondering if anybody else has experienced this and what their doctor said.

Re: 15 weeks and have fallen ill

  • I had something similar about 2 months ago. Fever, nausea, vomiting. I finally went to my internists office on Good Friday and was diagnosed with an ear infection, uti, and they thought I was a little dehydrated. There are antibiotics that are safe to take during pregnancy. Get to the doctor!

  • I went today and they told me there id definitely fluid in my ear but they're going to wait to prescribe antibiotics because it isn't infected yet and it may drain on its own. Other than that, they didn't say much. I have a feeling I'll be back in a few days though because i always get ear infections
  • I always get ear infections and I definitely felt one developing so I went to the docs and they told me it wasn't infected yet but instead of waiting till it became infected they wanted me to start taking Sudafed (the behind the counter stuff) and gargle with warm salt water. I took Sudafed for a week and never got an infection. I would call your docs to see if they would recommend that for you.

Our doctor is not your doctor. You need to call your provider & ask them what to do. They know your medical history & what drugs are ok for you personally.

My doctor gave the green light to regular robitussin (cough) & regulars Mucinex (thins secretions). Drink tons of water.
