Postpartum workouts.

I can't remember how long I waited to really do a full aggressive workout after delivery with my other kids.
I'm having a c-section so I'm thinking at least 8 weeks? I've been pregnant and or nursing non stop for the last 5+ years and now that we'll finally be done, I'm so ready to get my body back. I mean I'll still be nursing another year (hopefully!) but knowing that I won't be gaining pregnancy weight again when I'm done has me pretty motivated :)

  • I'm having a LEEP on my cervix a month after baby is born, but once i'm clear and healed from that, I'll be doing Turbofire (then Insanity) and getting back into running. I'm excited to get my body back too!

  • Walked as soon as i could but got into baby and me classes at about 7 weeks at two times per week. So nice to be with other moms
  • I started p90x 6wks exactly after my last csection. I did as much as I felt comfortable doing and motified a lot the first 4ish weeks. I can't wait to lose weight after this baby!

Yeah I'm sure I'll start slow and work my way up to a full hard workout. I'm joining a gym that's opening near me that does these super high intensity classes but I'm not starting that until I know I can go full out. Not sure what I'll start with at home first. I have insanity and t25.
  • I'll keep watching my diet (since that's the biggest thing for weight loss) and walk as soon as I feel up to it.  From there, I hope to start running again and doing my core building activities!

  • I day dream about hard workouts and eating healthy. I have a brand new Bob stroller waiting for its first 5k. I am thinking about signing up for two 5ks in September to jump start the weight loss. I am due 8/3.

--Kudos to you! I couldnt do P90x pre-pregnancy let alone after lol @jesselayne8

I will try building up my endurance after my 6wk check up.

  • Can't wait to do more! I was an avid runner but stopped running about 5 months as it was just getting uncomfortable. Still working out but not like I want to. I also loooove Jillian Michaels 30 Day shred and started that about 4 weeks after DS. I started walking around the neighborhood at 1 week pp. At my pp checkup DR said I still wasn't healed and to take it easy for a few more weeks. I stopped with the heavy stuff but kept up with the walking and after a few weeks was back to normal.

Wow I applaud you for dedicating so much of your time with the nursing and pregnancy!  Enjoy the new you time!

  • I started walking, with Dr. clearance at 4 weeks. I healed perfectly and wasn't even bleeding anymore at that point. At 6 weeks, I was cleared to workout and I started insanity. Kicked my ass in gear though. I will say my plan for this time is the same (hoping I heal the same) is to really watch what I eat. I'm much more educated this time around on the importance of your diet. I can't wait to shrink! Ahhhh :)

Yeah, I started walking with the baby every day a couple weeks after birth and that is what really did it for me.  I have never been much of an insane workout person though.  I second that I am so, so excited to get my body back to normal.

  • Eating right, yoga, and P90 is the plan!
  • My meatball shape has grown on me lately and I'm going to love looking however my body decides it needs to in order to produce a healthy baby. But man, I can NOT wait to have a waist again. And collar bones. And knees. Love getting all these ideas from you ladies.
  • After all my visitors and live in guests are gone (1 month out post delivery), I plan on following the eating plan of counting and food journaling macronutrients (only thing that worked for me for a long time was Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle, you can find the free e-book edition online) and walking. I have a foam roller bar and a few stretching videos for recovery.

Once I am cleared to exercise I will order a spin bike for home and get a gym membership to lift weights 3x a week.

  • As much as I'm itching to get working out again, I'm going to force myself to be patient and wait til I'm cleared by the doctor for the more impact activities (running, weights, etc). I'll probably start walking and doing some light bodyweight stuff (push ups, lunges) around 3 weeks, depends on how the body is feeling. Just want to make sure I don't rush back and prolong the recovery process.

  • I'm looking at barre classes and getting back into running. I'll wait until I'm cleared by my doctor. My diet won't change much, maybe a few less treats but I'm pretty moderate when it comes to indulging. I stopped running in Dec because of MS and by the time I felt well enough to run my belly was too big. I miss it!
