Dealing Morning sickness

I'm a little over five weeks today and woke up with horrible nausea for the first time since we found out we are expecting. I know it's just the beginning, so I was wondering what are some tips on dealing with morning sickness while going to work? I'm a vet tech and have to be there at 7am so I'm around stinky smells all day. Any advice would be appreciated!

  • Sea bands worked well for me. You can get them at any drug store. Peppermint helped at times too.

  • Saltines before you move in the morning and then I smell do terra ginger or digest zen and it helps.
  • I'm a big fan of Ginger candy and peppermint. Also water with ice to sip seems to help me as well. I basically experamented with a ton of different remedies until I found what worked best for me.
  • Thanks ladies! My hubby got me sea bands earlier...I haven't noticed a change yet. He just made a 10 pm run to Walmart to get peppermint and ginger ale for me! I'll be sure to put the crackers on my night stand for tomorrow morning.
  • Ginger or peppermint candy. Also if you are dealing with strong smells consider putting a drop of peppermint oil under your nose occasionally. That helped me so much last time when I needed to get through a particularly bad diaper change for DS2.

I have oyster crackers on my nightstand so I can eat them before I get out of bed in the morning. I also have to get up early for work (4:30).
  • Snacking frequently so I never get really hungry helps. Also, sucking on hard candies such as jolly ranchers. I used preggie pops last pregnancy and they were okay. I didn't think they worked any different than candy though. Brushing my teeth when I wake up is the worst, I have the hardest time not gagging.
