Spit up

My LO is 5 weeks old and we EBF. He has been gaining weight and seems very healthy but lately his belly seems to be super upset after a feed. His face goes all red and he stretches and tenses up...looks VERY uncomfortable. He has also started to spit up what I think is a lot of milk. We have a Dr appt in just less than a month so I will ring it up with the Dr but I'm just wondering if anyone has advice.

    I'd call doctor beforehand and not wait a month. If he's spitting up a lot each time, he's losing that nutrition. I wonder if he has an allergy or sensitivity to something you're eating.

    I agree that he might have a sensitivity to something you're eating. It could also be reflux. Try to keep him up straight for a half hour after a feed.

    Dairy is one of the biggest intolerance foods for newborns, it's very possible he is sensitive to it. If you try cutting dairy make sure to keep with it for a couple weeks as it can take time to completely leave your system.
