Pressure/kicks down very low

I am 24 weeks. Last night I was at a wedding and while I was sitting down I felt what seemed like a strong kick to my cervix/vagina area. It made me gasp and jump. It hasn't been that strong again, but a few times since then I've had what feel like the kicks I get in my belly, but just down in my crotch area rather than my belly. Almost feels like pressure, but only for a second at a time.
A few weeks ago I went to the hospital because a booger looking thing that I thought was the mucus plug fell out, but all was good. My cervix is slightly shorter than it should be, but according to my doctor, not short enough to cause worry.
Any thoughts or stories of women who have experienced any of this?
