Gift for significant other after delivery?

Is anyone putting together a gift or gift basket for their significant other?  I feel that most of the pregnancy has been focused on me (rightfully so), but I need him to know how much we love and appreciate everything that he's done because he has done a ton.  Thankfully I haven't had to lift a finger to do much of anything.

I have decided to put together something like this for my DH and I'll have a friend drop it off either at home or at the hospital after I give birth.

Re: Gift for significant other after delivery?

  • This is a very cute and thoughtful idea!  I might have to steal it.  I know we are getting a present for my little boy so he doesn't feel all the attention is going on the baby but I never considered a present for Dad.

  • I love this idea! I have been trying to think of a gift to give him and I think I will do something similar like this.
  • This is awesome!! Did u make the list yourself?! I might need to steal it!!!
  • Okay that is by far the coolest and sweetest thing I've ever seen

Hubby loves superman. So I got him a super dad shirt that I already packed. When our twins come, I am going to give it to him to wear in the hospital

I'm getting my husband a bag of fancy coffee beans and a silly mug to help him stay up for the late night diaper calls. Hopefully he doesn't know how to come on here are read what I've written....

Yep the gift I'm giving him is our son lol. Cute idea though!

Same. It's a really sweet idea, but we're in this together so he doesn't need a special gift, haha...the ultimate reward will be our son!

    Same here!

I might do this for my husband if I have time. His birthday last year I have him a baby girl and our son is due a week after his bday he's hoping he will be on his bday too. I told him I doubt it will happen again lol. So I just wanted to get him a really nice gift this year and celebrate his with our soon to be 1 year old. She's truly his baby girl he's the best father ever.

Great idea! However the birth of our daughter will just have to be enough :)

  • @ash&jeremy hope this helps I remember seeing this post a few weeks ago the ladies had some really nice ideas ;)
  • I did my own version....just things I know my husband enjoys....(This was before I put it all together)

Bucket: 88cents at Walmart- used paint pen to write Daddy
    Snacks: popcorn, jerky, gushers, airheads
    Drinks: monster energy drinks
    T-shirt: best dad ever
Picture Frame: note from baby on left side
    Book: My Daddy Loves Me
  • Hubby got me a push gift. So now I have to walk by a Michael Kors bag with the box beautifully wrapped. He knows if never buy something like that for myself.
A gift for him: keeping our baby girl baking til full term. His 2 children from his 1st marriage were both born at 7 mos. This experience is a gift for both of us as my first time I was a single mom. So going through this healthy pregnancy together is beautiful.

I did pack him some Mike and Ikes, and Sour Patch Kids though.
  • Haha I came to say what PPs did- I'm giving him the gift of a daughter! Really cute idea though, and I did give him an early Father's Day gift that I put a lot of thought into.

  • Personally I think giving gifts to each other for having a baby is silly, but we dont do mother's or father's day gifts either. Just not for us.

  • If anything we are the ones who deserve a gift, everything we had to go through
  • I have some surprises for him too. He has been great the last couple of months so he deserves the acknowledgement and he will see I've put quite some thought into it, so I really mean my appreciation :)

@gotdiesel2007 sounds like me and DH. Instead of gifts, we make memories instead- take a trip, do an activity, something. It's been almost 12 years now, but this seems like the best "something" we're doing for each other!!

  • Aww, I love gift giving! This is such a cute idea but as I've mentioned not too long ago hubs lost his job so we have to be wise with our money (he'll be starting his new job on the 20th!); which means no push gift for daddy.

He will just have to be grateful that I kept my hormones in check during this whole pregnancy and didn't blow up at him (not even once).....That, and I'll be giving him a sweet baby boy whom I carried and grew inside of me with so much love,
