Hope I can ask this... Was anyone been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes? I was only over by 1 point on of my tests for the 3-hour test but I am scheduled to see a dietician... Any advice/suggestions would be great! Thanks!
I had it with my first and became pre diabetic (which isn't the norm so don't let that scare you). I failed it by one with my son as well, you'll probably have to cut out pasta or really reduce your serving size. I had to monitor my sugars every two hours after eating. Fasting sugars should be under 100 and two hours after eating sugars should read under 120. I won't be taking the test this time around since I already monitor my sugars for my pre diabetes- the doc said its safe to say I'm gestational again based off my latest readings the past few weeks.
I'll be walking more bc that helps mine stay lower and I've reduced my serving sizes in meals (hardest part when pregnant) and limiting sugary or carb filled meals to one 'cheat' day. Thankfully, my husbands familiar with this lifestyle since his mom is type 1 diabetic and it's helped a lot having him as a support system.
He's cutting out all the things I can't have (you'll learn what foods your body just can't handle as far as the carb or sugar goes) so it's easier for me to adjust back to being a little more strict with my diet.
Just remember not each carb or sugar is created equally. Fruit is a better carb/sugar option than say candy (that one is obvious but to some isn't), your body will break them down differently.
When it gets hard just remember baby needs these changes, it's what I do when I'm having a harder day about not getting eat what I'm craving.
I don't have it but I have some knowledge about gestational diabetes. Just be sure to follow what your dietitian says. It's very important to do so because some gestational diabetes carry on to diabetes type 2, which is not so good sorry to say.
Try to avoid eating more than you should be. Also try lessening your intake of simple sugars. (OuO)b

Best of luck, message me anytime if you want.
