We do. It's Jamieson brand. It's recommended for any breast fed babies. We usually give him the drop during one of his diaper changes. Once we get into more of a schedule we will make it part of his bedtime routine.
Yup, my Dr prescribed vitamin D which I have to put in our LO's mouth once a day before she breastfeeds. I was told vit D is essential if you are exclusively or partially breastfeeding. Our brand is pediavitd.
We use Enfamil Poly Vi Sol. I pour out a small portion of their 8am feeding into a little bottle and mix it in. Definitely don't mix in the whole bottle as it doesn't taste good and getting my twins to drink more than a small portion is impossible.
I didn't give it to my first two but DD2 has some genetic health issues and they put her on it and asked if she had been on it since birth. So I am going to give it to this one. The pedi prescribes a horrible liquid but DD2s pharmacy sent drops for her. So I'm going to use those since one drop is easier than 1ml of that black fluid.
We used enfamil for a week or so before I realized its full of artificial color and flavoring. we now use carsons d-drops which the only ingredient besides vitamin d is coconut oil as a carrier oil.
We do, we asked at the pharmacy desk and there is a generic that is the same as the enfanil. We are supposed to give 1 ml. But I too wa concerned about the artificial flavor, I am having a hard time finding an alternative though. Plus it's so hard for me to remember.
We do. It likely depends on where you live as to how much is recommended. In Canada they recommend two drops daily . I just put it on her soothie or my nipple.
I'm in Canada and my Dr recommended one drop a day right onto my nipple before breastfeeding. My son doesn't show any reaction to taste or anything. I put it on at his second morning feeding when we are upstairs. I leave it right on the coffee table so I remember our are just called Baby D Drops.
