Yup! That's the plan. This is my second and with my first I did get the epidural as I was just too exhausted after 36 hours of contractions! Hopefully this one is a bit quicker and I'll be better able to manage through the transition period.
I dont know my plan yet but if I cant take the pain then I will opt for meds. Im just going to be happy that its finally over and my baby will finally be here.
If you do a quick search of the board, you will find many posts related to going med free....lots of moms on here have and many plan to. There is also a "Natural Birth" board dedicated just to that you may want to check out. Good luck!
FTM and I'm planning on a natural birth. I've never done so much research in my life and I still feel like I know nothing! I'll be checking out the "Natural Birth" board for sure..
Natural hospital birth planned here! I will just say that if I get to the emotional sign post of self doubt and think I'm approaching transition and get to hospital and they tell me I'm 3 cm I might re think the whole thing! Lol! That's my biggest worry. But we can do this girls! I have a wonderful birth coach (my sweet hubs) who will keep me relaxed and on track! Praying you all have the birthing experience you are seeking!
3rd time mom. . All natural at a birthing center (: super excited about it.. my other two were induced for no reason at a hospital, so I'm seeing a midwife this time (:
Yup, this will be my third time! It's amazing. The hardest thing I've ever done for sure, but so worth it. My best advice is to live in each moment. Have your hubby watch the contraction monitor and tell you as each contraction comes and goes. When he tells you one is over, allow your body to completely relax. Your body is trying to rest, let it! Then, when he says another is starting, start into very slow, measured breathing. Breath out into your stomach and know the contractions are doing what they need to do to get your baby out. If you spend your break thinking about what the next contraction will feel like, you will become exhausted. Take breaks every time a contraction ends. Oh, and stay out of bed!!! Lying in bed during labor is the worst thing ever. Rock in a rocking chair, walk, or sit in an exercise ball, just don't lie down!

I hate the term natural birth. All birth is natural, honestly. I usually try to say "med-free" instead. That being said, I do plan to try med free again, but if I have complications again I would do another epi in a heartbeat. Every labor is different so I am just going to roll with it.
FTM here too and planning a med free, birth center birth using hypnobirthing techniques. Just started our classes yesterday and already a huge fan of it! Can't wait to meet our little guy!
