Im not sure if I am the only one, but I only have enough maternity clothes to last me about 10 days. 10 shirts, 2 pair of jeans, 2 pair of shorts, and one pair of leggings. I just refuse to spend money on clothes that I'm only wearing for a few months. That being said, how do I go about packing my hospital bag in advance? I feel like I am going to have to wait until my labor begins so I can do my laundry and pack my bag. Anyone else in my situation?
Re: How to pack your hospital bag in advance?!
As for going home I've heard yoga pants or tight sweats are definitely not the best choice because you'll be wearing one of the gigantic pads the hospital gives you and I don't want to be looking like I'm wearing a diaper underneath my yoga pants lol. I'm thinking I'm going to be most comfortable in a maxi dress for going home since it's easy, cute and extremely loose/non constricting.
There are certain things I won't be able to pack until I go into labor or am headed to the hospital (toothbrush, makeup, etc.), but I'm putting together a list so that I can just throw those last minute things in my bag and not be afraid that I'm forgetting something.
Then came a miscarriage March '11
Then came a baby in the baby carriage May 16, 12
Waiting on our second little peanut!
It was totally fine but this time I am packing a pair of comfy pajamas and a robe or sweater to wear in the hospital after baby is born when visitors come. The gown was fine but I think my own clothes will make me feel a little more like myself : )
v-neck long sleep shirt for nursing in and just feeling more comfortable. First one I stayed in the hospital gown, second time I just wanted to wear my own stuff - I figure I'll bring the option just in case I feel that way again. Travel toothpaste & makeup remover. Everything else is on a list (laptop & charger, phone & charger, camera, makeup bag, flip flops ect) for either the night before c/s or the chance that I go into labor naturally my husband will know exactly what needs to be in there if I can't do it myself. I also second that I pack my own bag & bring a diaper bag. Depending on your hospital they will want you to take everything that has come into your room because they can't reuse it (diapers, paci's, snot sucker, pads ect) so baby usually ends up with a bunch of "freebies" + any gifts friends & family bring. It can feel like you're moving in even when you try to keep it to a minimum.
