So much to do...

I just had to share, I tackled my to do list today!
I settled on a middle name (Alexa grace) which has been really bothering me. Now that's set! I washed and folded all her clothes and packed her hospital bag (well.. It's in a plastic bag untill my baby shower as I don't have a diaper bag yet.. >.< i washed up the bassinet stuff, and the car seats and bouncy chair. Tomorrow I will put them all together, and I set up the changing station. (On top of my daily chores and ect) I even spent half the day in town.. So I'm pretty excited with myself right now :) she will be here in 4 weeks and I am overwhelmed and excited.

Anyone else start setting everything up? Or set up?

Re: So much to do...

  • I've started but I feel very unprepared right now. I need to step it up and get everything in order.
  • Loading the player...
  • Nope, nothing yet. We are definetely behind :(
  • My Mom is coming today to help me finish up while my hubby works on his to-do list. 4w+5d until c-section. I want everything to be done!

  • Oh ladies I just started last night. I feel very unprepared and overwhelmed. My bassinet is warped so it's been sitting with weights on it, in hopes that it will bend back... But if she comes anytime soon or it don't bend back... I'm screwed! Which is stressing me out! :/ as far as hospital bags.. I believe I'm okay.. Hers is packed, and if I was to end up in the hospital my Mom can grab some clothes for me and my hygiene bag (which is packed enough to be okay.. I could use the hospital stuff if needed.)

I found that making a to do list has helped.. That way I can look at the paper and see what I can do now, and what has to wait.
  • Clothes etc are washed and ready. I won't put together the pack N Play and stroller until she is born. It's pink and on the off chance the ultrasound tech was wrong (which I highly doubt), I want to make sure I can return the major purchases. Other than that im good to go. I had nesting a few months ago and shampooed all the carpets, deep cleaned and organized everything then I was worn out until last week when I hit 35 weeks so I shampooed and detailed my car. I purchased everything we need months ago and added a few items like rattles etc last week. Now I can relax.
  • Oh crap, I have to clean out my car too. Lol.
  • I have done nothing...my house is shining but other than that all i have for the baby is diapers...when i was a FTM i bought everything and had everything prepared...i have since then given everything away and dont feel the need for anything...i haven't had my baby shower yet and i figure whatever i dont get there i will pick up...but im n no rush and im expecting baby in 4 wks...
  • I am a first time mom, I have no family for hours and hours away and I have NO idea where to start!! I'm beginning to really clean my house and I am turning the spare room into the baby's room until his is finished (we were and are building on.) I need to replace the carpet in my house there's just so so much to do!! I just don't know where to start
  • I cant stop nesting but only when it comes to her stuff. I have everything washed and oit away, my bag is in the car along with the base for her carrier. I have our second base in my Hubby's car. Her bag is packed and by the front door along with my camera bag. The pack and play with bassinet is assembled in our room. Both strollers are put together and on her room. Sheets and changing table covers are washed and put in as well. My plan is to get some cleaning done between this afternoon and tomorrow and to make 2-3 pans of meals to put in the freezer. I have two friends who said they nested the crap out of the baby room and house but wish they had some meals for the first 2 weeks due to not being able to cook... 35 weeks yesterday. But between the gestational diabetes and hypertension. Its a pretty good chance I will go early. Now I just need to motivation to nest at work....

    Good luck ladies!

@HeatherUtt, your pp could have been written by me. I'm on the east coast, my family is on the west coast, and all of my in laws are up north! To top it off we had just started a huge kitchen remodel when we found out that we were pregnant.

The baby's room is currently needed as a guest room as we expect company a few more times before baby comes. After company leaves and the kitchen is done, we still need to pain and recarpet the baby's room.

Fortunately my mom was able to come out for my shower and we put together several frozen meals and she helped me figure out what I'll likely need for a newborn.

  • Wow!!! I wish I could have everything together.. But I'm staying with my parents at the moment, as I'm not living where I was when I got pregnant... So on the plus side my moms always here to help out. Which we hadn't done anything because it was too early but since I started getting everything together I think she fears that I'm doing the final nesting. Haha so she's been helping me today with some things.. My baby shower is in less then 2 weeks.. So I'm half prepared and figure I can finish after it.
  • I washed clothes and diapers but other than that um no. I don't even have a car seat.

Her nursery is done, clothes are washed and put away. The pack n play is in our room but not setup yet (it's easy, I'm a STM so we've set it up many times before). Bags are packed. We have the car seat bases ready to go in the cars but we're waiting on the pads that go underneath them to come in, should arrive next week and I'll have hubby get them in. I think we're set.
  • Lol I feel so unprepared. Then I read the ones where ya'll are all set.. I'm like oh man as a third timer I should have this all down...
  • I have had bags packed, nursery all ready to go, laundry done for a few weeks now. Got car seat installed today. Freezer meals being prepped tomorrow. I am ready!!! 4 weeks or less :)
  • That's awesome! You sound like you were very productive today! Good job :-) today was the last thing we had to do (room, bag and supply stock done) today we changed the air filters and installed the car seat. We officially have everything crossed off on our list. Such a great feeling! I'm sure everyone knows how freakin LONG that list starts out to be.
  • ^mine seems to keep growing! The more I cross off the more I remember. Ugh!
