Spelling help...Veda or Vada?

So we've decided to name our baby girl Veda Louise, I have always loved the name and excited that DH agrees! However recently I've been worried that about the spelling. I believe the true spelling is Veda, however I have recently been seeing it spelled Vada. Also apparently they spell The girl from the Movie 'My Girl' the Vada way. Am I over thinking this? I prefer Veda, but maybe just because that's how I've always thought that's how it was only spelled...thought maybe I should see what you all think?

Veda is a proper spelling. Vada is not.

ETA: we don't always do things the proper way in movieland... please don't let a movie be a resource for your decision.
