major panic attack

I had a major panic attack tonight now i cant sleep completely freaking out

Re: major panic attack

  • Try to stay calm for bub ♥
I know how hard it can be. I've struggled with anxiety for years, and being pregnant has amplified it like crazy. I find talking myself down works, or talking to my bub. I know it's early and it might sound silly but I find it calming and hope bub can feel my love through all the stress. Sometimes if I can't think of anything to say, I just sing to bub. 'hey Jude' by the Beatles calms me a lot.
    Hope you're feeling better xo

  • Thank you @lyannast finally got a few hours a sleep. I have my first appt friday and it cant come soon enough!
  • I had mine a week ago, seeing that little fluttery heartbeat was the biggest relief.
  • Resurrecting a panic attack post - just getting them mostly in morning thinking about labor and everything. Anyone else? I've been swimming which helps
  • I'm exploring hypnobirthing. I've been on YouTube listening to a couple seminars and getting some pointers about affirmations and how to relax oneself when needed. I don't think I will necessarily use it as a "birth method" but I will say the affirmations have really helped me when I get the first initial overwhelming feeling when thinking about delivery.

Hope that helps a little. Definitely keep up the swimming/exercise. That's so helpful. My dog and walking help me tremendously.
  • I haven't had any panic attacks, but when I start getting anxious about things I find a lot of relief from reading up on what I'm worrying about.
I agree with @essentialpeace, keep up with your exercise too - that's a great stress reliever. If you're feeling too overwhelmed, maybe talk to your doctor about it as well and see if they have any other suggestions.
