December 2015 Moms

Hooray! I've officially joined the MS club!

I know it's strange to be excited about morning sickness but we've never made it this far in pregnancy!
11 pm and I rouse my husband because I was feeling off, with a lump in my throat and within a minute, dashing to the bathroom. I was also excited he got to witness this milestone but when I told him that, he looked at me and said "But it's 11 at night?". I had to explain how big of a joke the title of MS is.
So how do I stop it from happening again? Ha, kidding. I know there is no cure but one time would be enough for me to feel the beauty of pregnancy.

I'm with you, when I vomit it's not fun but I always think I'm so lucky to be pregnant and have symptoms to remind me. I've found deep breathing through my nose can stope from puking even if I'm already gagging- try it!!

  • Trying it right now! Cannot get this lump out of my throat and cannot lie down without making it worse.
    But such a blessing!

    Welcome to the club!!!

Lol I can relate to the reassurance you get from it.
I'm 13 weeks and it's starting to calm down a bit... At first I was like "nooooo! I like my morning sickness!"

But then again I still have the fatigue and headaches to give me peace of mind hahahah

    Gotta love it
  • I find eating helps mine. It sound counter intuitive, but it works for me.
  • I just started MS yesterday too! Non stop ms all day. I like your take on it. I was not a happy person yesterday and to see you take it so positively makes me feel kinda bad lol. I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and I think it's very strange to have ms starting now. I already messaged my doctor for prescription..I seriously hate the feeling of being sick all day.

  • Well I'm sure my opinion will change of I ever get it all day long. Also, I'm a little more spoiled than most with not having to work a full time job or take care of other children so if I'm sick all day, it doesn't really have a ripple affect to the rest of my life.
I also got really jacked (you all with think I'm a giant nerd) that I got to use my bucket last night for a real reason! I had bought sand buckets and put them around the house in preparation for ms that never happened, but last night it worked great!
Plus, I now have another typical mom term to use in my arsenal when the kids are older. "Not only did I carry you for 9 months but I puked while doing it! Now clean your room!!!!"

  • @Marchmellow2 I know it seems crazy, but I've actually read that it can be quite common to develop or have reoccurring MS around 14 weeks!
Mine went away around 13 weeks then came back the strongest it's been at 14 weeks. Ugh I just can't wait until it ends!! Until then I'll just keep popping my meds!
  • @Marchmellow2 I am 13 w 3 days, and today was the first time I've actually gotten sick. I have felt nausea off and on, but today was the first actual sickness. Kind of hope it was a one time thing.
  • I've had nausea since about 6w preggo, but in the past week (I'm 13w4d) I've been actually vomiting.  Mornings are the worst for the morning sickness!  Around 1:00 I get headaches and at night I get to look forward to dizziness.  What a blessing to have these symptoms tell me that my baby is growing!  Although, I could do without the 20 minutes of puking every morning ;)

    We'll get through it, ladies!

  • This will sound weird, but I keep oyster crackers with me at all times. I eat them slowly and sip on sprite or ginger-ale and it starts to go away. I had ALL day MS for about a week and a half, but it only comes and goes now. THANKFULLY! I just kept telling myself "it's all for a good cause" lol I was even waking up around 2 or 3 am with the symptoms, so I would roll over and sit up and pop a few crackers. It works more often than not! Good luck and hang in there ladies!
