Amazon Mom

This came up on another thread on diaper stockpiling, but I was hoping to get more insight into people's experiences.
I have never used Amazon Prime because I don't shop online too much (except maybe at Christmas). But I am considering Amazon Mom. Is it worth the $99 annually? Does the 20% off diapers offset that cost?
Also, what kind of coupons do you get? Are they good deals on things you actually use?

Re: Amazon Mom

  • I pay the $100 annually to Amazon Prime and I believe it's worth it. The two day free shipping is nice. With little ones, it's nice to be able to order their birthday and Christmas gifts. I also bulk order DHs k-cups, etc. We watch movies & TV shows via Prime, and read books on my kindle.

The discounts on diapers, and other baby items is just a bonus to me.

  • Amazon prime is totally worth it. I'd do that option and then add mom onto it. You may be doing more online shopping, and 2 day shipping is awesome.
  • We've had Amazon Prime for a few years and I love it. 2-day shipping is nice, plus the free streaming shows and music (and ebooks, of course :) ). We do a lot of shopping online, as we live in a mostly rural area, and it's worth it to us.

Will probably sign up for Amazon Mom, but I'd love to hear if anyone has used it in the past.
  • I'm in love with Amazon prime/mom. The diaper savings (withy subscribe & save) alone pay for the membership... But we also subscribe and save wipes and other household items. They've also done a lot to add other benefits -- you get free music streaming, unlimited photo storage, a free book a month (from a limited library, but there are still some good ones), and the free two-day shipping is heavenly. Plus if you stream TV/movies, they have a decent amount of content. Totally worth it...

Lurker here. I LOVE Amazon prime and fully intend to utilize it more once I become a mom. There are so many life breaks to come from Amazon and I can only imagine how much I will appreciate it when the baby arrives. I'm in NYC metro area and my colleagues get EVERY thing delivered to their house, from toys, to diapers, to food, to paper towels, to coffee, and everything in between. This whole concept seemed foreign to me (and lazy?) but honestly, we ALL work so hard, both working moms and stay at home moms, we deserve a break. So signing up for amazon prime where you can realize you need something and two days later it's on your front porch with very little effort, is truly life-changing and life-saving.
  • I'm a FTM, so I know nothing about diapers, and we are pretty conservative spenders. Amazon prime has paid for itself at Christmas time alone the last few years because of the free shipping. Amazon mom is just a wonderful bonus to a service we already really benefit from. It's worth the $99!
  • If you have amazon prime how do you add amazon mom to it? Is it an extra cost?
  • I love amazon prime! But I keep just not updating my student membership (half the price) so I can't sign up for Amazon mom without upgrading.
  • I signed up for a free trial of Amazon Prime at Christmas and forgot to cancel. I'm pretty sure it's paid for itself in shipping with what I buy on Amazon.

Amazon Mom is free if you already have Prime, but I haven't used that much yet. However, you can buy everything from bras to diapers to baby gear on Amazon and often cheaper than in stores.

    It's totally worth it.

My husband just searched for it in the amazon search bar and a link for it popped up. If you already have amazon prime you can add amazon mom for free. The $99 a year covers both.

The only thing about amazon mom is you have to use it under the main users account. So, my husband was the account that has prime but he shares it with my account. To use amazon mom I have to go under his account though.
  • My husband is still in college, so we only pay $49 a year for it, and it is soo worth it! However, we buy off of Amazon a LOT, so it really pays for itself. With Amazon mom, you can use the 15% or 20% PLUS coupons! We've stockpiled up, and plan on buying more soon.
  • Amazon Prime is the best thing ever! Hands down. You won't regret it.
  • Are the coupons worthwhile? I hate when you get coupons but they are for strange things you would never buy...or only if you buy several of a product. I would just love to hear some examples of coupons they have offered....

I just signed back up, so I'm not 100% in the coupons. But usually, when I would go to order DD diapers, it would say "use coupon" right under the listing, and it would automatically add it to your cart. I don't remember getting coupons in the mail/email

  • So in my family, my sisters account has amazon prime/mom. Her husband is a student so they get the discount membership price. Anyways, me, another sister, and my parents all chip in for it. We just log into her account and use our credit cards/shipping addresses that way. It is wonderful.

Even if we didn't do it that way I would 100% pay the cost for prime. The amount you save in shipping is wonderful, plus you can get most things in 2 days.
