After 3 weeks of breastfeeding/pumping, I've decided to put my baby on formula. What is the least painful way to wean myself without causing mastitis or clogged ducts?
What I did was spread out the number of times I pumped. If I was pumping every 3 hours, I went to every five, and then every 7, etc.. Eventually I got to where I only pumped once a day and then didn't have to do it again. I would do each interval once or twice, unless I was painful (which didn't really happen).
As you slow down the pumping and you get engorged cold cabbage on your breasts will help you dry up and feel more comfortable. I know it sounds weird but the cabbage really does provide relief

This is exactly what I did. At the end, I only pumped for 3 minutes if I was in pain. I only had to do that once.
I am on day three of this! I got some cabbage and it has been amazing, i have been wearing cabbage leaves non stop for two days! I was only pumping 3x's a day anyway, and I was still getting about 9oz per pumping! Yesterday my boobs were sore but this morning I woke up and they felt much better! I went cold turkey because I wasn't pumping that much during the day anyway. I also started taking my allergy meds against which helps dry up milk, and I guess Benadryl will also help to dry up milk too! Good luck!!
