I'm in a good mood today and I can't stop dreaming about when my three year old meets his sister for the first time. I am litterally going to melt. I can't wait till he does the big sibling awkward baby hold.

Not really a corny dream, but I'm dreaming what our baby will be, a girl or boy :-)

Plus I'm with you on the sibling dream. Can't WAIT to see our 7 year old hold his new brother or sister for the first time. Such a precious moment :x

I always think about holding him for the first time. I am a FTM so the thought of holding a baby that is MINE kinda blows my mind still! The other special moment I think about all the time is my SO holding him for the first time and watching him fall head over heels in love with his baby boy :x

Just seeing her face for the first time. All of my babies look similar and yet so different from one another! I wonder if she'll be a redhead like my youngest boy or have black hair like daddy or be a blondie or brunette. Brown, blue or green eyes. Will she have long, slender fingers like her big sisters did? SO exciting!!! I can't wait.

Seeing my husband hold his little girl! He has three boys (one with me) so a girl is truly a blessing for him! My son is already answering the question "whos in mommy's belly?" and he says her name so sweetly at 19 months old! So watching him see her for the first time will be special for me as well.

Just reading these makes me cry (oooooh hormones!) I keep dreaming about being in labor and then holding him and breastfeeding him for the first time... not sure if that is totally weird or what.. I just think its so beautiful and such a close bonding experience I cannot wait for.

Great post! I dream about being alone with my husband and baby and the time we will have together at home that first week learning how to take care of the baby together. I'll probably really cry the first time we introduce her to her grandparents and family. I can't wait yo see what she looks like. Oh this post made me cry.

I dream about seeing her for the first time and who she will look like! Also, seeing my daughter (8) & son (5) meeting her for the first time! Writing this out just brought a tear to my eye. Feeling very blessed!

I want to see who they are! Hair color, lips, boy vs girl... I just want to know who this person kicking and punching me is! I think about what it'll feel like to actually hold them and see them, and to see David hold his baby and how adorably awkward and sweet it'll be and I just tear up.

Mostly though I'm curious about about the hair. Will they have it? Will it be red?

I dreaming of when I see him and hold him for the first time knowing he's made it safely here, and also seeing my husband's reaction to his son! Can't wait to breathe in his sweet baby smell and feel him snuggle into me and start nursing.

Oh and I can't wait to see hubby with her too. He's a huge guy, very intimidating looking and rough. And he is the one who cries (I don't). So capturing the moment he first holds her and sniffles like a baby himself is always so tender and sweet.

I think when the siblings get to see the baby for first time will be my awe moment. When I had my second my little boy was 2 and half years old. As soon as he spotted his little sister for the first time he said "aw, cute baby" so glad we caught that moment on video.

I can't wait to hear him cry for the first time, that fresh into the world baby cry, when he breathes air for the first time and sees the outside world, so big and waiting for him to explore. And my fiance holding our first child, his son, a part of the two of us, and looking into his eyes for the first time knowing it's our job to keep him safe and raise him to be a good man.

Also, my parents holding their first grandchild and my brother holding his nephew. Aw crap... I'm crying now. I can't wait to meet my son. He's already so loved by so many.

It's the first grandchild on each side, so I'm also looking forward to them holding her. Also, the moment her hand grabs onto mine or my husbands finger and we know we'll always be wrapped around hers

Wahhhh I'm already getting emotional! I can't wait to hear his first cries and be able to just hold and snuggle my sweet boy. My magical moment would be to meet my son for the first time and also his father taking us to Germany with him since he has to be stationed there for three years, two weeks after our son is born. I hope he grows up and doesn't leave me behind to do this all alone thinking that sending a check once a month makes a difference.

Omg, the newborn crawl-I can't wait. My favourite part with M was watching her squirm around on my belly, all gooey, and work her way up to the breast. And then we just laid and stared at each other. It was beautiful. And also looking forward to seeing M meet the new baby-but that's mixed with a bit of anxiety because I want so much for it to go well.

I cried earlier when I read this thread, and couldn't even come up with my post! Besides what has already been said, I'm actually looking forward to having her here with me at night; yes, I'm looking forward to the usually dreaded middle-of-the-night feedings. I'm sure my husband will change her diaper (he's a super helper in the diaper department), and hand her off to me for feeding. Then, he'll go back to sleep and it will just be me and my baby girl (my boys will sleep through every bit of it). I have horrid insomnia, and I look forward to her company. She will likely be my last child, and it all goes by so fast. You've got to relish in every minute of it (no matter how tired and sleep deprived)!

I think about the first time it's a beautiful early fresh morning and its all cozy in the Fall, the smell of coffee, my dogs are calm on the floor laying down and im able to really comfort my baby as a mother for the forst time and feel like I'm not only doing a good job but also that I'm gonna be okay. I fear the times when I'm helpless but really look forward to when I get it right and just reveling in those moments.

Aside from what people already said about seeing what he looks like and breastfeeding, I am excited to put a cloth diaper on him! Right now those are the only baby items I have, so that might be part of it haha. But I was snapping one up to the smallest possible size and thinking "I can't wait to put this on the baby!" My husband thought I was crazy! This maybe isn't a 'right after birth' moment, but fairly close.

I keep imagining being able to pull off an all natural labor, skin to skin for an hour and seeing my SO hold our baby girl and falling head over heals. Can't wait.
