I posted last week about getting my Sequential Screen scores back w/ a positive for Down Syndrome 1:57. I've been a wreck so my regular doc had me come in last night for "emotional support" and to check out some round ligament pain I've been having. The doc last night looked over my levels and the only thing "off" to her was my HCG. She said my estriol, paap-a and the other one was fine, but that different labs use different numbers (which I find highly annoying considering the amount of stress this has put me through). My HCG level is 3.35 MoM....anyone else have or had a higher than average HCG level? I was 16 weeks when they did that test. I've been stalking google and it seems like yes, it can be a marker for Down Syndrome, or can have an effect on the baby's growth and they'll monitor me again via ultrasound around 32 weeks. I get my anatomy scan Thursday so hopefully that will provide some reassurance. Anyone else experience anything like this?
Re: Anyone with high HCG mid-pregnancy?
I would try to stay away from Google until then. It can get scary! Maybe see if you can talk to your doctor again when you're there Thursday and talk about what those numbers mean?
I really hope Thursday you can get some answers and put your mind at ease. Please keep us posted!
