2nd Trimester

Acne During Pregnancy

I swear it was one of my symptoms that I didnt pay attention too because I thought it was my period because they are only on my chin & they are huge and ugly. This is one of the reasons Im convinced Im having a girl she has stollen my beauty lol & the craving for sweet things Im making brownies and muffins right now because idk which one I want the most plus boyfriend doesn't really like brownies he can have some muffins. But back on topic how did you ladies get rid of this acne? Im in my second trimester now hopefully it goes away. But what did you ladies do?

Re: Acne During Pregnancy

  • I started using an unscented dove bar. Did wonders for me!

I'm interested in other people's answers too. I've had one stubborn red zit on my cheek for about a month and my usual tea tree oil isn't working. I'm about to call the dermatologist in case it's something worse!

I couldn't believe it worked but Belli products! I use their sulfur spot treatment. I don't like their cleanser. I use cetaphil instead.

I usually never breakout and my breakouts got insanely bad in first tri. This product has been a miracle worker.

@zings for your stubborn red zit- not sure if it's painful, but I would try to dry it out with a little baking soda. Mix with water and apply to the spot and hang out for as long as you can. That's helped me at least with the pain.

    G'luck ladies!

Yes this is exactly how I am my acne was incredibly worse my first trimester now its slowing down but I want it gone completely! Thanks for responding ladies I will look into those Belli products.
  • Mine was horrible and now I'm in my second trimester and I AM having a girl.
  • I'm doing the Rodan + Fields Unblemish right now. It seems to work somewhat, but I'm not totally cleared up yet, but it's becoming manageable.
  • Using a burts bee cream but unfortunately only thing I Think helps is time. Chin and shoulders/upper arm.. Ew!
  • Its caused by your hormones, and no medication, no facial cleanser will help it.. because its caused by something within your body that you can't treat.
I suffered cystic acne with my first son, it was PAINFUL, the acne was so deep under my skin that it left scars all over my face and it felt like it was literally in my facial muscles. Most painful acne ever..
with my second son I had a bit of acne but nothing bad.. I would have a few pimples here and there but it was pretty nice!
This is my third pregnancy with my 3rd son, and I have acne worse than the 2nd pregnancy but not cystic acne like my first. Its just pimples all the time. This morning I woke up with 4, one above my lip which is painful!  Usually when these heal I get like 3 or 4 more a few days later!  It never goes away.
I have seen many doctors, from New York, Georgia and Alabama, and they have all said there is nothing we can do about it. My mom thinks I should try vinegar but if its my hormones that wont help any. You don't want to use facial washes either because some of them have chemicals in them that are bad for the baby. Definitely talk to your doctor and see what he/she says.
I am 19 weeks pregnant and it hasn't gone away and I don't think it will until a few months after the baby is born. With my other two it was the same way, I had it the ENTIRE pregnancy!

I had horrible breakouts when I was in my first trimester.  I just used a strong gycolic solution to help with cell turnover and it helped a lot.  My doctor ok'd it but you should get the green light from your doc as well.

I use Alpha Hydrox Intensive Serum.  A few drops mixed with moisturizer before bed does the trick for me.  I still break out a bit but they heal very fast and the red marks fade quickly as well.

    I hope this helps!

I'm nearing the end of my first tri but I'm having the same thing. It's just not my face. I've had one on my chin and it went away. Mine are my shoulders, one on my boob and another between my boobs. My husband pointed the one out to me when I was getting dressed and I'm like, "thanks.. -_-" lol

anyway, I've been trying to stay away from cleansers and gently scrub with a washcloth then moisturize after my shower.
  • I use neutragena naturals. it's amazing!
