Stretch Mark lotion results..

this takes some serious curage to post this photo but I wanted to share. I don't like cocoa butters scent so I searched for a an elastin/collagen enhancing natural lotion and picked St.Ives brand. Smells fantastic and I've only been using it a few weeks, it's fading the stretch marks on the right side of this photo a lot, still not much of a change for the left side, but I'm hopeful! I'm only 24 weeks and all I have to say is...fuck you awkward looking stretch marks! Any of you ladies seeing results from other products?image

  • I am using coconut oil and don't have a stretch mark yet. I too am only 24 weeks so we will see what happens. Glad you are seeing results from the lotion! I actually used that for the first time this morning and it does smell really good!

  • Awesome! Glad you posted this, because it will give so many ladies here the courage to do the same! I've been using a Palmers cocoa butter, but don't have any stretch marks (from my pregnancy... I gained a lot of weight when I was young so I do have white stretch marks on my arms, and front of my stomach..) But, I did see little red ones pop up next to my belly button a week ago. I lathered myself in the palmers, and they do seem to be fading. You look wonderful @chelseajeanene ! Thanks for posting ;;)
  • I just wish I used lotion when I first started to pop out! I didn't even think about it

You look great mama! Glad you found a product that is working for you :-) I think I'll stock up
  • I've only used coconut oil so far and no stretch marks at 26 weeks. Hope it keeps working!
  • I use a cocoa butter/brown sugar shower moisturizing gel and when I get out I use Nivea smooth sensation body lotion. It has Shea butter. No stretch marks yet, fingers crossed. So sorry love for your mama stripes if they make you unhappy but you rock them better than I could

I used Mederma stretch mark cream on the stretch marks I got on my breasts from puberty. It helped them fade pretty nicely! :) It isn't safe to use until after pregnancy though. Boo. :(

I have a couple small stretch marks on my stomach already too at almost 26 weeks!! From what I understand the best time to treat them and help them fade is before they start fading in color naturally (while they're still red). So I'm going to look into more reviews on stretch mark creams as soon as baby is here to help them fade. :D

Oh, and don't feel self conscious girl!! Most women will get stretch marks during pregnancy! Seriously, statistically around 60-90%!!! (Depending on which study you stumble upon lol) But my point is, even if no one can relate at the moment, most of us will be in the tiger stripes club before this is over! ;) You look beautiful! Only 3 months left! Yayy \:D/ <:-P

Edited to say "statistically" damn autocorrect -_-
  • I've had some pretty bad stretch marks and I looked into them. You are more likely to reverse their damage when they are still red. They are pretty permanent  once they have turned white. I used this https://www.mederma.com/products/stretch-product-therapy on my stretch marks and it really made a difference. It is expensive though. I plan to use it again after baby. Now I am using good lotion after each shower and belly butter at night.

  • I also use Burts bees mama bee belly butter and not a single stretch mark so far on my belly or boobs! I'm super excited! Hopefully none show up
  • I had the start of 2 small stretch marks on my lower right abdomen. I immediately began using 2-3 times a day Belli Elasticity Belly Oil (vitamin E, gotu kola, lavender oil) and then apply Arbonne's RE9 Firming Body Cream. The marks are now barley there. Mine were more dark brown with my olive skin. So here's hoping I'll have some luck to the end of pregnancy. With my last kiddo I didn't get any.
  • I use the weleda stretch mark oil. Love the scent! Wish it was not in a glass bottle or had a less messy dispenser. So we will see
  • I used olive oil and I just got some honest company body oil, so far no stretch marks.

  • I'm 24 weeks and don't have them yet but to be honest, I am waiting for them to appear any day now. I am using L'Occtaine 100% Shea Butter (expensive but so worth the price) and moisturizers so well! My skin isn't as itchy. I honestly don't think anything will prevent stretch marks so I am getting in the frame of mind to accept them. I'm getting a beautiful baby out of all of this. I wouldn't trade that for anything :)
  • I'm also using Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter on my belly, boobs, hips, and butt and so far no marks at 23 weeks. I usually put it on in the morning and at night right before bed.
  • This is amazing! Thank you for being courageous and posting this. I'm also getting stretch marks terribly and I put cocoa butter on nightly and have seen little to no results! I am going out immediately and purchasing this!!
  • Just want to say I think you're amazing Chelsea!
  • I can absolutely appreciate. I got them in the strangest places that I would not have thought would be so stretchable? Haha. The only places I got them though were where I had not used my cream. lol. I guess that means this stuff works. If you're interested, I've seen this not only seems to prevent, but also reduces signs of stretch marks on myself and others I know who have used it.

I use palmers and bio oil and I drop a big spoonful of coconut oil in the bath when I take one. But most importantly I make sure to consume plenty of collagen! You can actually get it just as like a supplement and it dissolves in all liquids plus has 11g protein per serving. Nothing to increase collagen in your skin like collagen! I use the green canister Great Lakes brand, grass fed

I have this exact canister of collagen but I can taste it! I'm able to hide it in smoothies but how do you take it? Any tips?
  • I already have stretch marks from being fat so I haven't bothered to try any lotions. I'm also skeptical about spending money on a lotion that won't work :/
  • @sphillips18 I did too, a few of them were from before getting pregnant but since then they've multiplied big time. I got this lotion at Walmart for only $4
  • I've used st Ives before but it's never done anything for my stretch marks! Mines are there for good lol my mom just bought me some really good smelling body cream that might help though.
  • I use honest company belly balm, but have read several places that all the oils n creams just moisturize/soothe the itch, but do nothing to prevent stretch marks. Either you get them or don't. Could be genetics, like cellulite.
  • I've been using St Ives Vitamin E lotion after my showers, and a variety of other body butters before bed (Whish, Mamma Mio, SoftSkin Stretch Softly). So far nothing, but my bump is still pretty small.
  • I'm using Burt's Bee Mama Bee Belly Butter and no stretch marks so far (I'm 22 weeks). I also had a woman in Buy Buy Baby who saw me waiting in line to buy it tell me that she used it every day during her pregnancy and she never got any stretch marks! Hoping for the same results! I also slather on some Burt's Bee Oil before bed! I don't like the strong cocoa butter scent either so these have been a great alternative!
Me too - I only use the butter and so far ... so good! I do think some of it might be genetics.. who knows.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Coconut.oil all the wayyyy. Good for hair and skin. I have had twins.and of course ebded up with these hiddeous marks.however they have faded alot. I use now with my second pregnancy. And it feels great!!!
  • @lilascott I use coconut oil for everything, I lather up 2-3 times a day and I'm hoping it helps my tummy stay soft and elastic :-)

@chelseajeanene I ended up finding that same lotion you recommended at CVS last night, and because it was placed on a sale rack, I got it for 75% off! It smells great and makes my skin baby soft, I am in love :x
  • I make my own stretch mark cream. It's helped the marks on my boobs fade. Here's the recipe, in case anyone is interested.

    1/4 cup aloe Vera
1/2 cup olive oil or coconut oil
    2 capsules of vitamin a
    4 capsules of vitamin e

Mix the aloe Vera and olive oil together, then open up the vitamin capsules and empty them into the mix.
Apply daily, and refrigerate the rest.
  • @mrscaterosales its amazing!!! And i seriously am complenented on my skin all the time!!! I have triedd everything and at 34 i finally found what works
  • I've been using both coconut oil and Burt's bees mama bee and no stretch marks so far! Other than my inner thighs because I didn't even think to lotion those bad boys up. Lol
  • I lathered in coconut oil. I love using it anyways but didn't help. :(

Palmers has been pretty good and makes the belly soooooo soft lol

I don't taste it at all honestly! We put it in everything. Smoothies are a good idea of course. I'll mix into warm broth too which might meld with whatever flavor you're tasting too
