Update on leg numbness!!.. :/

Today I had my 16 weehopefully appointment we heard the heart beat and the heart rate was 154 they said it was very strong and the baby sure was active trying to avoid the doppler! the baby is 100% fine (that we can tell without a sono until 20 weeks)
I brought up to my dr about going to the ER a few weeks ago due to all the dizzy and near blackout spells AND the loss of feeling/numbness in my legs. The dizzy/blackout could be due to the heat and extra blood flow which I figured BUT i was referred to physical therapy next week is my first ever appointment with PT, I was told by my dr that it is not the baby sitting on a nerve (past experience with collapsing just assumed they were due to overheating) nor is it baby related in any way that he is aware of. I was given a physical test to see how high I could lift my legs up, push his hands up down and to the sides, needless to say that is why I'm going to PT, they Are abnormally "weak" compared to normal. He said they would (hopefully) test me to see if it has anything to do with my nerves (for things such as MS) and I will be given a few new exercises. Tho I have not collapsed yet, I do get the feeling of dead weight in my legs before I lose all feeling and slide down to the floor. The positive side, in the past I did not have this warning and did collapse. Now I can slide down to sit where I am before completly crashing to the floor.

I advise all of you, if you feel your body is telling you something is wrong do not hesitate to go get checked and be sure that you bring it up with your dr! We can assume things may be baby related such as baby sitting on a nerve, but can never be sure so it is always safe to discuss it with your health care provider :)

  • That's scary. Hoping it's just some temporary nerve stuff and nothing serious. Thoughts are with you.
