Good evening ladies, we have had a scary afternoon/evening.
I am a FTM and just thought I would share my afternoons goings on to see if anyone else has experienced anything similar to this....
Ihad a full day shopping spree yesterday, by the end my feet were incredibly sore. last night baby wasn't moving as much as usual (usually nighttime is when the most movements occur) I put it down to tiring baby and myself out with all the walking etc then today I had felt some but not quite as many movements and not as strong as usual - after relaxing and concentrating for a full 2 hour period I got a bit worried as normally I feel a lot especially after sitting still for a while - called the maternity hospital midwives who told me to go through for a trace, I then arranged a lift with a family member - whilst waiting for them to arrive I drank iced water and baby's movements picked up - I then called the midwives again to inform them but they still wanted me to go through for a trace. Once at the hospital they checked baby's heartbeat with a Doppler and my blood pressure and pulse which were fine then checked position and urinalysis which was also fine - then I was put on a machine that checked baby's heart rate and checked for tightenings (I had never had any tightenings before) once being on the machine for half an hour they were worried as the movement and rate were very low - they then put me on it for another hour and checked me after 45mins - during this time I had contractions that were not Braxton hicks - they read 62 on the monitor and were every 2mins - they started to worry and sat with me for half an hour and the contractions lessened thankfully - the midwife said the contractions had been scared away but she still wanted me to time them if they get stronger overnight as the head is 'very well engaged' at 34weeks.
Contractions have now all but ceased

Have you experienced anything like this?
Do you think baby will be early??

Anyways I thinks its best if you just listen to your body and do what is best for you and baby because there is no way to know when she/he will decide to come!
