I love Holland. River is fairly popular these days, and James is of course very traditional, but I never hear Holland! And I just think Holland James Hanson sounds great together! Plus how great to honor an important man from both sides of the family
We have a James River (an actual river) near us so I threw that one out right away (for that reason only). I like River James Hanson but I voted for Holland James Hanson because it sounds very nice for a baby name and a grown up name. When I said it in my head I actually pictured his name being called out at his HS graduation..lol It's got a good ring to it
@nikkidavis421 yeah that's my husband's issue too...when I came up with it it didn't dawn on me about it being an actual river until later. There's also an ocms song called James River blues. The ONLY thing steering me away from Holland is my husband's brother and wife just had a baby and named her holly. It's just SO close! OH the dilemma!
I wouldn't worry about the similarity of Holly and Holland. Use what you love (I voted Holland James because I really like it!) We had a Jim, Joe, John, and James (and me Jenny) who were all siblings/cousins growing up. No one worried or cared how similar our names were

I hear ya on the closeness issue, too. My sister named her son Chase and I really like the name Jace for a boy, plus DH's name is Jason so I figured we could count that as the baby being named after him (if we have a boy) but since Chase and Jace sound so similar, I've thrown that name out
Re: Warning! another BOY name poll! plz help!
