advice on when to tell new job

Hi everyone,

So my pregnancy is unplanned and couldn't be worse timing - I found out about it the morning I had an interview at a job I really wanted (AND my boyfriend started a new job that day!). What a day. I actually GOT the job (yay!) and I start in a few weeks. I am struggling with when to tell the new job. At the time I applied/set up the interview, I wasn't even pregnant. At the time they offered me the job, I was only about 6 weeks and it's my first pregnancy - I really felt like it was WAY too early to tell them, and I didn't want it to affect the job offer. I also was still waffling about what my decision was regarding the pregnancy, to be honest. It just didnt' feel appropriate to tell them then, but I don't want to be dishonest. To further complicate things, a good friend of mine's boyfriend works there and I don't want him to look bad, and a lot of my other friends know but I haven't told this one friend because of that.

Should I tell them on my first day? I'll be 10 weeks 3 days. Should i wait til the 2nd trimester, a few weeks after I start? Wait as long as I can hide it? I just don't know what the culture is and how supportive they'll be. I do know it's quite a bit of intensive training for a year, so I'll obviously have a huge hiccup during that time while I'm on leave.

I start my new job at 13w4d. Right now, I think I'm going to tell them around 16-18 weeks. That is long enough time for them to prepare for my absence, but also a long enough time for me to start getting a feel for the job.
