Pretty and Girly Girl Names- Need Help!

Which of these do you ladies think is pretty? I have matched them all with a middle name (my first name) so down to just seeing which is loveliest and some opinions would definitely help!
Arabelle
Rosalie
Isabella
Aralynn
Arabella
Lily
Rosalynn
Layla
Lilia
Sophia

Let me knows your faves from this list and thrn any other pretty girl name suggestions you may have (I know it's tough without the middle name but I'll match it up and see if it works!)

Re: Pretty and Girly Girl Names- Need Help!

  • It helps to know what the MN will be! By your SN, it looks like Maria? Angie? Angela? It makes a difference in the sound of a name :)

  • I love Arabella or Arabella, and Rosalynn.  Another fav "girly" name I love is Juliana or Giuliana (italian spelling).

  • Love Rosalie! Some of the names on our list were Madeline, Ruby, Eloise, Clara, Cecelia, and Violet. If it's a girl for us the name we picked is Genevieve Mae
  • I like Arabella ! My friend has a little girl named shyanne alizabell
  • Rosalie is cute and not quite so popular. I like Sophia too but it's more popular if you don't mind that.
  • I like Rosalie the most from your list. I also like Isabella and Sophia, but those are both pretty popular right now.
It really depends on how well the names flow with the middle name.

  • Love Rosalie! Some of the names on our list were Madeline, Ruby, Eloise, Clara, Cecelia, and Violet. If it's a girl for us the name we picked is Genevieve Mae

We were stuck between Genevieve and Ruby! Decided on Ruby Michelle after my DH grandma and my mother! Genevieve is so pretty! I love the older names that also sound a little unique- best of both worlds!

OP I love Layla, if my name wasn't Lea (pronounced Leah) I would have named my baby girl that. Seems a bit too close to my name looks wise.
  • I know a little Lily and Isabella, so I'm biased towards those two sweet names!  Isabella goes by "Isa" (pronounced "ee-sa") for short, which still sounds pretty!
  • I like Rosalie the best off that list. Maria, Juila, Anastasia, Ariana, Malia, are a few that come to mind.

  • @Leabyrd I love Ruby I think it is such a sweet name but couldn't sell my hubby on it. Mae is short for Margaret for my grandma. A bit of a stretch but we wanted to keep the tradition of having a family name in there somewhere; our twin boys both have family names which I love. It is really hard trying to find a less common older name these days they are becoming the new trend especially for girls!
  • @shannonboettcher I know right!!! It's so hard to do classic and different without going for a trendy name!
  • Arabella and Rosalie are my favorites, but it's a good list.

  • Out of your list, I like Isabella, Sophia and Lily the best :)
  • Ivanka trump has an Arabella and I love it. I also know someone that has a brielle which is pretty too. You've selected really pretty names

  • Isabella :x may be choosing that option because it's my daughters mid name .
  • Layla was the name we had picked out if this baby was a girl. I am in love with it! Although we had planned to spell it Leylah.
  • I had no idea Donald Trumps grandaughter was arabella..that interesting! Okay, all the advice is helpful!

I think we have similar taste because I love all of those names but particularly Lily (which is my DD1's name) and Arabelle (Arabella is my DD2's middle name). All great choices! If you want to picture a personality to the names, DD1 (Lillian "Lily" Averie) is sweet, caring, funny, organized and outgoing. DD2 (Blythe Arabella) is calm, spunky, loves everybody and easy going.
  • Arabella makes me think of a mystical witch type older lady who lives in the woods. But more of a jolly/charming/enigmatic witch than an evil witch. Not sure thats a good or a bad thing though! Depends on the vibe you're going for! I really like Rosalynn and Rosalie!
  • Those name combos are adorable @jessjoelmasse
  • My husband like Arabelle better than Arabella for some reason!

I have several friends who are going with Lily and I love that name. I met an elderly lady named Evangaline the other day and thought it was as beautiful and classy as she was. She goes by Eva, she said. But said when she was really little her siblings called her Lee-Lee because her name was mouthful.
  • I think Rosalie and Arabella are very pretty. Someone mentioned Genevieve, which I also like. My coworker's daughter is named Geneva, which I LOVE but we're having a boy, so we can't use it.
  • I don't think I've heard "Layla" until stumbling upon your list and I was instantly like "WOW, LOVE that name!". It's cute, professional, beautiful, and sexy all in one.

  • My DD's name is Evangeline Grace. I love her name because to me it's classically girly girl, and not very popular. Evie is her nickname. From your list I love Arabella!

  • Arabelle - Love, very pretty
    Rosalie - Another love.
Isabella - Pretty, but a bit over done. Consider Isolde?
Aralynn-  No. This is a smoosh name.
    Arabella - Prefer Arabelle.
    Lily - Pretty.
Rosalynn - No smoosh names. Try Rosalind, a bit different sound wise, but infinte more character.
    Layla - Not my style.
    Lilia - Not my style
Sophia - Nice, but a little lackluster to your other choices.
  • Love most of them. Don't love the Ara ones As does t seem as smooth.
