Book suggestions

I have my 1 hr glucose test tomorrow. I was planning on reading while I wait, but I need some suggestions! What was the last non pregnancy/parenting book you read?

Re: Book suggestions

  • Anything by Jodi Piccoult. I have a dozen of her books. They never fail me!

  • Hmm it's been all pregnancy related for the past several months but before that I read the Graceling series.
  • Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult is the best book I've read in a long time and I'm an avid reader.
  • Nora Roberts born in series (ice, fire and shame). Love all her stuff.

Here's a few that have made me smile over the last year or so. Some are ridiculous beach novels with no educational value, some are pretty well-written, and some are in between:

    1) I second anything by Jodi Picoult
    2) The Thoughtless Series by S.C. Stevens (it's a romance series)
    3) Gone Girl
    4) Girl on a Train
    5) Gabriel's Inferno Trilogy (romance series)
    6) Anything by Kristin Hannah
    7) Dad is Fat by Jim Gaffigan (if you already have kids - this is a MUST read)

On my list to read soon?
All the Light We Cannot See
    Serena
    Still Alice

  • I loved Still Alice - I would recommend. Lisa Genova I believe the author is- she has a couple other books as well - Love Anthony?

Jodi Picoult are great reads as well and are easy to pick up and come back to anytime. I love her books!

Now I want to read! :)
  • I bought gone girl to take with me to appointments and tests while I wait. So far it's good but I didn't get too far into it yet because I've had to bring my 2 year old with me to most appointments lol
  • Anything Philippa Gregory, Kate Morton, or Liane Moriarty. I am also an avid JP reader so those fans of hers will also appreciate these authors.

    Keep the suggestions coming!

  • James Patterson!
  • Best books I've read lately:
    The Nightengale
    The Invention of Wings
    Orphan Train

    Last three books were:

    1) The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
    2) One Step too Far by Tina Seskis
    3) Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen
  • "Wild" is my last read. Haven't seen the movie, but I think most women would like this one.

Any books by James Patterson are great. For fun "chick" reads, I love Sophie Kinsella
Enjoy the romance reads by Nicholas Sparks
