Is anyone else having a gender reveal party I'm having one on July 5th need some unique and creative ideas I already been on Pinterest and all the ideas are like the same I don't want to do the cake or ballon reveal.. Help
We had one a couple of weeks ago. Had about 23 people there, our immediate family and some of our best friends. We went simple. Just did hot dogs, baked beans and chips. And then had a cake and ice cream. We let the grandmas cut the cake together to reveal the sex. They were really cute finding out together. It was a lot of fun! First grandchild on DH's side so they were really excited.
Lurker here from the January board . My last pregnancy we passed out pink and blue balloons (not blown up) and had put very small holes in the pink ones, so all at once we all counted to three and blew up our balloons .... But only the blue ones worked. It was very fun for everybody to get to play. We let each person pick the color they thought we were having. It was fun. Just a suggestion, since your on the search! It was a Bow or Beau party.

Google the silly string idea. You buy pink or blue silly string. It's covered with decorated paper that says boy or girl? so you can't tell what color it is and on t he count of 3 everyone sprays it. Do cake pops, but have only one of them be the winner that is pink or blur inside makes it more of a game. Pop a large balloon with pink or blue confetti in it. Pick out boy and girls shoes or outfits and take them both up give the cashier the boy or girl card and they can buy that for you and wrap it so you don't see it. Then unwrap the gift at the party.
We are having a small party with our immediate families the weekend after we find out. It will be the weekend before 4th of July. I have 5 nieces and nephews that will be there, so we are thinking about either filling a pinata with all blue candy/streamers or pink candy/streamers. Or we may do something with smoke balls since it's during the time we can light off fire works. They make large smoke balls that we would cover so no one can see the color until we light it.
MH suggested that we walk into the room, and if it's a girl, I drop my pants. If it's a boy, he drops his. Needless to say, we are NOT having a reveal party

I'm still on the fence about doing one. I think it would be fun but don't want to inconvience anyone. If we do have one, I'm giving the card to my friend and she is buying either a boy or girl outfit and we will unwrap it for everyone to see.
We had ours the weekend....we filled a wiffle ball with colored chalk powered and taped the holes up and then painted the outside. My husband hit it with a bat and it busted.
My husband and I have decided to get this stuff you can put on your car that comes off like plastic but it sprays like paint..(the name of it is escaping me right now) but then we are writing it's a boy or it's a girl on it and it will have blue or pink rims.. I wanted Togo outside the box lol but I have some pink on it for now so we could see how it goes on so when the time comes we won't be messing with it for hours trying to figure it out lol
We aren't having a party btw we are just doing it for fun since we are having a mini shower I should have mentioned that lol we are just doing it for fun to show those who are coming to the shower lol (definitely don't want a shower but my MIL insisted however I have a rule of no touching my belly because it makes me uncomfortable)
This is what I did. Go by the color of silly string you need take the lid off thrown away. buy enough for everybody that's coming to your party and have fun!!!! My family loved it.
We are going to do the cake thing because we want to find out at the same time as everyone else! We are going to do it at the unconventional baby shower BBQ where all our friends gather for a BBQ then the boys can divert off to the pub or for golf why the girls do the fun games. So excited!

My husband really wanted a pinata so we got a cute baby carriage looking one and it was filled with pink candy! Fun for all of the kids in our family and definitely fun for him...LOL
We had our gender reveal Saturday and went with a Touchdowns or Tutus BBQ at our house with close friends/family. ETA: we popped a black balloon filled with the color tissue paper confetti. It looked amazing in the moment! Highly recommend tissue paper confetti.
I knew before our party. I got the call around 3:00 from the midwife with the results of the genetic testing and she said it's a boy. So I ran to Carter's real quick and picked up two boy outfits and wrapped them up. When my husband got home from work I said I have you a present. He said you don't know what it is. I said yeah they called this afternoon. He was grinning from ear to ear when he saw boy. Of course we were both just happy the genetic test came back fine. That was our main concern. Everyone else found out at the party. That was a hard secret to keep for four days!
I would ideally like to do something where everybody (myself and Husband included) finds out at the same time, so I plan to get it written down and placed in an envelope at the a/s and get a cake with appropriately-colored filling (the bakery would be given the envelope). I wanted to have everybody make a guess before the reveal.

The only thing even remotely interesting about a "gender" reveal party is seeing the reaction of the parents to be. It sounds a little anticlimactic otherwise. I mean, what's the point?
Yes, I don't really get the point if the parents know already. We are doing a GR at the end of June and we will not know. In my opinion nobody really cares what you're having except for maybe the Grandparents. I know personally, I wouldn't see the point of going to one if the parents to be already knew the big news.
I really wanted to do the silly string idea but we wanted it to be a surprise for everyone, ourselves included. So buying and covering the cans was out. We ended up with the balloons in a box idea. Completely unoriginal but I loved that we didn't have to know before our family. I simply took the envelope and a box and packing tape to a local party store and nicely asked that they fill the box with the appropriate color balloons. The moment was priceless so I'm happy we went with it.
My husband and I decided we were going to find out at our appointment and keep it a secret for a couple of days until our gender reveal party. We want that moment together just us two when we find out so we can share the excitement together and then a couple of days later share it with our immediate families. We are having a small gender reveal because our close family members will still be super excited - especially because this is the first grandchild on my husband's side. I agree a lot of the fun is seeing the parents reactions which is why we are just doing a small BBQ with family and not extended family and friends.
