How concerned do I need to be about what size clothes DD wears? She's nearly 13 months but is wearing 18-24 months and some 2-3 years old clothes. She's tall (as are both me and DH). But I'm worried that her wearing clothes for kids a year older means she has a weight problem (as do me and DH). She's always done Baby Led Weaning and eats like a horse. All the BLW books say that if they feed themselves they will regulate their own food intake and eat as much as they need. The food I give her is all healthy, cooked from scratch, full of fruit and veg, etc. but she eats tons of it!
I have no idea how much she weighs as we don't own a set of scales so have just been looking at her clothes size so far. How concerned do I need to be or am I worrying about nothing? My mum
Keeps making comments about how it's not normal to wear 2-3 year old clothing at 13 months and it's making me paranoid!
Re: Baby weight / clothes size
I'm sure your LO is fine.... If you are concerned you can always ask at the 15 month appointment
For what it's worth, I notice that both my kids tend to pack on the weight, then grow and lean out, and then start packing it on again. Some days I look at them and really notice they've gained weight and then a month later they look almost thin (well, maybe thin us a stretch;).
